what the hell: ken has an interesting little tidbit more that is not always too obvious. he is a schizophrenic (psychotic disorder characterized by disintegration of the personality, and an inane deterioration in everyday fuctioning), which is probably one of his worse problems. in canon, or reality, episodes - kaiser seems to begin to hear voices in one scene or another, which could be written off as any odd number of things. really, it is to be believed those mental decibles are the voice of ken, wishing to drive the emperor even more insane. see, der kaiser and der junge, ken, are two completely different people. their habits are much too unrelated to be considered the same person's own. their way of speech, bodily movement, and just their entire attitude is so "off" and separate, that there is no possible way they can exist as one, either than sharing the same body and brain. as seen to the images immediately to the left, it shows a comparative shot of kaiser and ken gripping their heads betwixt fingers, and basically having a mental breakdown. the basic idea is that when the despot reigned, ken shared the car, and while ken was driving, the kaiser is your everyday co-pilot. for the purposes of ken as a roleplaying character, kaiser still exists in the back of his mind, even after a lengthy defeat by the chosen. the emperor loves to drive ken up the wall with heinous antics, such as singing completely useless nursery rhymes, and just whatever comes to mind. the emperor also despises motomiya daisuke, at least

because he incites horrid feelings and so on "inside" of him. ken has been known to speak back audibly to his invisible assaulter, which can give passerbys the justice to raise a brow with unsaid questions, or just move away quickly. whoever is leading second-in-command of the vessel can actually cause harm to the individual captain by a more psychic thought process, as demonstrated above. at times when ken's emotional defenses have crumbled, der kaiser can actually take control of the helm, and make brief appearances. one such happening was evident when motomiya daisuke rejected ken's affection quite harshly, and the next few scenes featured a more sadistic and masochistic child instead of the kind hearted and gentle boy -- the hated ruler had returned. thankfully, though, ken was able to regain control afterward, but is totally blank in memory on what happened between the invasion, and what went on before he woke up the following day. that is good. ken himself is unstable in this aspect, and actually fears any loss of the tyrant will result in his dissolving of a true character. he wants the other gone, but not, and this conflicts inside him greatly. ken's like the mother
left with the task of cleaning up the spilled milk of the emperor, who is much too young to understand his wrong doing - and now ken has to live with the horrors and atrocities the emperor has done. kind of disturbing: now, the oddest thing is, unbeknownst to the actual characters in the roleplay, ken is completely fabricating the mind of kaiser in his own at the moment, and fully believes he's real -- the explanation is, is that since ken had to exist with the other for such a long time, he's gotten used to this horrible creature, and doesn't yet want to give him up. so, der kaiser was insistantly another, but now he is truly gone. a speculative reason for ken flipping out after being rejected and taking up that old personality is familiar to some in a few aspects. kaiser was a no-nonsense kind of person, the kind ken is the total opposite of; and he's now ken's defensive mechanism. since before, at least after osamu's death, he got everything he desired, and the one time life wasn't going right .. boom. emperor time. so it was more of a physical/mental reaction to his stress, rather than actually wanting to be evil or bad. ken's quite kind, believe you me! ken and evil-ken were once in the same body -- his eyes while under the influence of evil are solid, small, no actual wondrous description. but when he's not? he is quite beautiful, as you can tell. he's also not as tense. and there's also the factor of evil having smaller eyes.
