| personality quirks: ken usually remains quite introverted and deathly retrospective in all aspects of daily life. he takes his school work at tamachi very seriously, and has been known to be mocked with good nature because of his lengthy schedule, by motomiya daisuke. he keeps a logical and sensible profile, and may tend to speak with "big words," while nervous or excited about something -- but he tries to keep things simple and clear, unlike izumi koushiro, who ken sees as some sort of intelligent competition. ken's hubris has died along with kaiser, as even his loyal news reporters have vanished. he generally keeps to himself, |

| when others of the chosen children alliance are concerned, though he prides himself on opening up to his best human companion, daisuke. he is currently on iffy relationships with nearly each and everyone of the chosen children. perhaps it is his own handicap. despite this, he has second to none relations with any of the others, something he truly does wish would change -- it's just not his top priority. for the time being, he is suited with daisuke, his dejital partner wormmon, and nothing more. ken is smart, as well, if not a capable genius of his time, though he remains much too modest anymore. he has been known to help daisuke with his regular algebra homework, although the other does not seem to grasp the purpose of letters as variables, and so on. he is favorable to his "leader" as well, and will defend him in confrontation if need be. ken can also be a charmer at times, and can woo the most icy girl, or guy. he does not like his little celebrity, as of late. |
| meaningless history lesson: ken's past is, to say the least, traumatizing and horridly tragic. this explanation will attempt to be short and sweet, as those who wish for more in depth information in analysis will find it elsewhere on this website. for starters, ken once had a brother named osamu - as seen to the right of this text. ichijouji osamu was the actual favorite and resident genius of ken's family. ken was nothing special to his parents and others, as the insiginifcant little boy living under the same roof as his prestigious brother. he never felt ill toward osamu, never, as he felt only pride for being so "privilaged" with his living quarters. ken originally showed zero-promise of becoming a child prodigy, as osamu had already demonstrated as being. one day, osamu found a dejivice that had come from his computer, and since it would not work with his touch, he just set it in the back of some random desk drawer. now, ken |

| was of age six or so, as he happened upon this odd object stuffed away with his brother's belongings. and for some reason, the device reacted to his presence, and he was transported the dejitarusei, or the dejital world. he met all sorts of creatures, including his present dejimon wormmon, and one boy of later years named ryo. ken has an iffy memory when faced with questions of his collective past, truly not wishing to remember the events regardless. he began to desire osamu to "disappear" forever, and never again would his parents ignore himself, and praise his brother instead. ironically, osamu is killed by a rogue car only a short time later in some sort of freak accident on the street -- and ken is the immediate first witness, seeing his brother's body crumple against the indifferent asphalt, and his cracked glasses skip away bouncily. he still currently keeps those glass items somewhere in his room, originally both his and osamu's (evident by the bunk bed), and denies vehemently to any truth. but osamu's death was not a true accident, outright, and the culprit behind it may never be revealed, at least for the purposes of this roleplaying character's development. afterward, ken blamed himself -- and still does - for the incident, and he eventually rediscovered dejitarusei. after an encounter with a black dejivaisu, and the waters of a poisoned ocean, ken began to form blacker thoughts toward reality and what it held. this time, as his parents basically saw osamu's potential in himself, he was now the famous genius, growing more indifferent, clinically insane, and justly "better" than everyone each day passing. he emerged as der kaiser of this dejital realm, a hateful despot, and only a month or so later, he completely severed ties with reality. it is probable that the world was intended for osamu's rule, but that is yet to be determined. now, the only thing that stood in his way were a group of chosen children, led by motomiya daisuke; child of courage, friendship, and then later, miracles. after a long strenuous game of proverbial cat and mouse, incidents involving a destiny's soccer game, the horrible kimeramon, and a temporary death of wormmon .. kaiser was shocked out of his private reverie. after his return from the dark, ken literally separated himself from his past, and became a totally different personality. ichijouji ken's hubris was no more. as a result, the only dejital child to forgive him utterly had been daisuke; with stringless friendship and immense loyalty. the others remained quite distrustul of his conversion, and still don't believe der kaiser is gone forever. |
