Rwanda 1994 – 2004
: The last genocide of the XX th century
Call for truth, justice and recollection
On the initiative of Resistances and IBUKA - Belgium
Ten years ago, in Africa, a genocide committed: theTutsi's genocide in Rwanda.
In some weeks, more than a million people(men,women,babies, children, old persons, without any distinction)
will be massacred for ethnic reason on the whole Rwandan territory.
Others will be it for their political beliefs.
Among them, progressive, democratic and pacifist Hutus also.
The genocide of Tutsi in Rwanda was the last genocide of the XXthcentury.
Planed long-time and organized essentially under orders of "Hutu Power", a racist extreme right organization collecting
the main leaders of the former dictatorial power of Juvénal Habyarimana, this crime against humanity took place in the shade of the western
diplomacy and on war bottom of economic and hegemonic influence between Anglo-Saxon and French-speaking countries.
As for genocidal on the run, they will be exfiltrés, supported and welcomed in African and European countries, thanks to multinational fields
of evasion constituted notably by "clergymen" and by Belgian and French politicians.
The genocide of Tutsi in Rwanda in 1994 is not only connected to the history of this small State of central Africa.
This genocide has to remain anchored in the collective memory of the Humanity.
The signers of the present call:
- Wish that International and Rwandan justices, calmly and in the unconditional respect for the right, pursue,
and judge all the responsibles, the authors, the financiers of this genocide and their numerous accomplices.
- Call to the Belgian federal government to supports strongly all the efforts that justice either totally returned
to the victims and to the survivors of the genocide and repair to the victims or made by all those who, closely either by far, before,
during or after this genocide contributed to the emergence and to the execution of this ignominy or to the impunity of the culprits.
- Denounce people and organizations having supplied or always bringing some support in genocidal runaway and
hope that these people and organizations will have to one day answer of their complicity towards criminals against the Humanity.
- Ask that the Belgian authorities and the competent humanitarian bodies bring a humanitarian, sanitary and material support
for the survivors and for victims' families of the genocide.
- Ask that everything is made so that the recollection of the crimes against humanity committed in Rwanda in 1994 continues beside
future generations to pursue the fight against the inhumanity and to prevent(warn), wherever on the planet, any genocidal act.
