Lassie, Sod off
HOME
Filmed: 1991
Directed by: Ian Taylor
Duration: 2mins 42secs
Camerawork: John Hatfield
Artistes: Honey, Ian Taylor, John Field
Factoids: A Mars Bar in the ear was used to entice Honey to speak to Lord Byron.
This was the first true collaboration between Ian Taylor and John Hatfield, as the latter got used to his newly acquired 950 camera.
Dr John just happened to be lying at the foot of a cliff.
Hardly any copies exist of this film. Even the maker has only a third generation copy. What happened to the original footage?
A legend of Steam Video is seen at the beginning of the film, possibly a thought of a joint name for future projects?
Location: Shipley Glen, Bradford
I love Honey because: Well, she was the world's most cutest dog. She acted the pants off everyone else concerned, came in on cue, moved well, and makes the film what it is...adorable. I miss her lots and always will.
Personal Glimpse: by Ian Taylor
Eric has just e-mailed me and called this film "crap"! I am most offended. It is a beautiful and simple film, made up on the spot. It is the ONLY  film to date to make use of "twice-speed" and "slow-mo" without a massive picture loss. Its amusing, short, has great music, lightens your mood if you are down, and started the collaboration between John Hatfield and myself at making films with gusto in the North East. It was meant just to test a camera out, let John get a feel for making movies, and it does that and more. Some nice shots and ideas, make this a film I am proud of. You hear that, Davies? Proud. And when your best effort is the Fan...

The Bottom line: Other dogs like it. Hardly pushes the filming frontier forward, but its got a cute dog in it.
