The Hall family has been quite a challenge so far and Im sure there is still a lot more waiting to be uncovered about this family. I have got back as far as the mid-1800s when my Great-Great Grandfather Robert John Hall was born, possibly in Oldham. It should be pointed out at this point that Robert John was also known as John Robert, the names seem to have been swapped around depending upon the event. |

On 2nd March 1873, Robert John married Elizabeth Ann Spray in Leadenham and later that same year Robert John Jnr was born. He was baptised at Leadenham on 7th September. At the moment, I have no details of other children for Robert John and Elizabeth Ann. |

There is a tale that has yet to be proved and it is this : Elizabeth Ann died when young Robert John was only about 4 or 5 years old and Robert John Snr could not take care of his son. Robert Jnr was taken in and brought up by the Thompson family who were related to his mother. Robert John Snr is said to have emigrated to Ohio U.S.A. but as I said, this is all hear say at the moment and there is no evidence to support the story. |

Robert John Jnr. got married on the 31st March 1901 to Nellie Ranshaw whos family originated from Horncastle. On their marriage certificate, Robert John Jnrs father is given as deceased, but no other details have been found as yet on his demise. |

|
Robert John Jnr and Nellie had two children, the first being Albert Edward born around 1902 but only lived to be about 5 when he died on the 12th June 1907. Their second child was Mabel (my Grandmother), born on the 14th June 1908. Mabel married Walter Cole on 22nd September 1937 in Lincoln. |
