| I'll Pray For You Notes Page "I'll Pray For You", taken from Philippians 1:3 - 5, speaks of yet another tool that helps us to endure. Not only do we need to speak in tongues ("Benefits of Speaking In Tongues" notes), claim the promises of God ("Study To Show" notes), and utilize the gift of the holy spirit ("Spirit Inside Me" notes), but we also need the fellowship and prayers of other believers to stand and endure in this life. When the first century church under Peter and Paul's leadership faced persecution from the Judeans and the Romans for their new 'Christian' beliefs, they needed the strength, edification, and exhortation that they gave to one another to keep their minds renewed to the truth. The book of Acts is loaded with great examples of the church standing together through obstacles and adversities and comforting each other through the good times and bad. The first century fellowships of believers stood strong because they stood together. Today, we stand strong by standing together. We have the examples of the scores of people who stood for God in the years after Jesus Christ's ascension to look up to and we can be the same examples to future believers that they were to us (I Thessalonians 1:7).
