Spirit Inside Me Notes Page "Spirit Inside Me", along with "No One Can Take Us Down", was written for a Commercial Songwriting class in the fall of 2002 at MTSU. The holy spirit is the gift that God gave men and women who are born again. Jesus Christ called it the "Comforter", meaning that it would be a source of power and a remembrance of all that God by way of Jesus Christ had accomplished (John 14:26). The holy spirit is the down payment from God that Jesus Christ will come back. It is the power that helps us to endure in this grace administration. It has given us the ability to speak in tongues, speak in tongues and interpret, and to give forth a word of prophecy. These three things were unavailable in Christ's time, in Moses's time, and even as far back as Adam's time. We can pray to God in a language unknown to us, and give Him all of the glory and praise, as well as edify both ourselves and one another. The holy spirit is not God; it is no more God than Jesus Christ is. It is a separate entity, a gift from God to us. I Corinthians, Chapters 12, 13, and 14 delve into all of the categories and powers available with this gift. Also, Dr. Victor Paul Weirwille's book, "Receiving The Holy Spirit Today" (available through Amazon.com and The Way International) is a great tool for learning, understanding, and receiving this wonderful gift from God into your life. |
