- To compete in the ITWA, competitors must apply with our Interim Commissioner (Sean Hanson) until a permanent Commissioner is found. Thumb Wrestler's weight must be included in the email. This can be done by emailing Mr. Hanson at the email above.

Rules
1. All thumb wrestlers must be registered with the International Thumb Wrestling Association (ITWA) in order to compete for a championship and to get a world ranking.
1a. If an ITWA sponsored thumb wrestler competes in a match against a non-sponsored thumb wrestler, the match will not count for or against the sponsored wrestler’s record and world rankings.
2. All matches sponsored by the ITWA will start with 1-2-3-4-I-Declare-A-Thumb-War while alternating thumb positions.
3. All matches sponsored by the ITWA will end with 1-2-3-4-I-Won-The-Thumb-War while pinning the opponent’s thumb.
4. An ITWA sponsored thumb wrestler can wrestle up one weight class if both wrestlers agree on difference in weight.
4a. If lighter wrestler beats heavier wrestler for his/her title (or vice versa), then the winning wrestler must forfeit the newly obtained title or lose/gain enough weight to further wrestle in that weight class to defend that weight class’ title.
5. All wrestlers must clip finger nails before sponsored matches so as to not cut or scratch opponent's hand and fingers.
6. There will be a weigh-in before all ITWA sponsored matches.
7. Wrestlers can not wear gloves during ITWA sponsored matches..
8. Sneak attacks, tag teams, cherry bombs, power bombs, etc. are not permitted in ITWA sponsored matches.
