Vampire
AD&D
M.A.G.U.S.
Miracle Adeptia Guns Urrus Sorrate.

This is a Hungarian RPG, however, whether I like to admit it or not, it is THE best. The "AC"-system, the "THAC0"-system is much more detailed,  and well developed. Certainly more sensible. There is a 5-stage "feat"-system with enables you to fully create the character that you imagine. More main characteristics (more sensible ones too); psyonics; an own world with a well-developed history... no clear separation btw "bad and good" ofcoruse, according to today's moral, one can say, ie Krn is an awful place...

Unfortunately, the authors were lazy university students, and they were too slow to create new materials (also due to the fact that they wanted quality material) and after newer and newer disappointments (late publishings), Novk Csand, the owner of the trademark has just sold his company...

The new problem is that the guys who've bought the company are university students, but of the worst kind. It's obvious that they grew up on MAGUS and ADnD, but MAGUS was not brutal enough for them... They wanted monsters, and magic items and dragons ...like in ADnD (not that the MAGUS doesn't have these, but they are much rarer in Ynev (the name of the world of MAGUS).  It is clear that they believe that the more complicated system of MAGUS was the cause that it had to be sold (to them), and they're trying to simplify it (ie, introducing D20, instead of the good-old, wide-scale D100-system)....... ruining it. The new version (of which I am a tester) is horrible: in a few places they actually forgot to translate the AD&D 3rd edition manual........
:(((((((

I've met some of them, and believe me, they're the kind who play not for fun, but to escape the real world... and not the way the "healthy" rpg-player does it:
Not because this world is too mechanical, too boring... no.
They could not even TALK to me straightly ONLY BECAUSE I AM A (somewhat pretty) WOMAN!!!
Jeeeeeezzzzzzzz! What a bunch of losers.

GOOD NEWS:
(see above & to the right! Novk Csand has reclaimed the MAGUS!)
Advanced Dungeons & Dragons.

What can I say. I like ADnD. It is much more story-like than MAGUS, which is very realistic. It's a tale. Fiction. This is really _playing_, and you've got all sorts of monsters (it's in the game's name), manuals, editions, moduls, worlds, books... you name it.

These guys have almost 30 years head start compared to almost any RPG in the world.

I might even go as far as to say that their lead cannot be gained on.

Primitive rules, small numbers to count with (D20-system; dices with 20 sides) make it the favorite of children all over the world...

Ofcourse, it had to be censored... you've got "tanar-ri"s instead of demons... no half-naked nymphs in the illustrations, etc.

Childsplay, but fun.
Vampire - The Masquerade

White Wolf's Vampire is very unlike AD&D, or MAGUS. There are quite a few rules, so more depends on roleplaying and the idea of the GameMaster who leads the game.

You needn't be a monster to play this game - Heaven know's I'm not - but it helps.
:)

Intricacy. Diplomacy. Power...
Key words... I advise it only to the mature rpg players...
..or the very young ones who just want to KKND (kill krush and destroy).
Good news! The idiots who took over the MAGUS didn't pay for the trademark as it was previously agreed on (3 stages), thus the ownership fell back on Novk Csand!

Let us all hope that he does NOT sell it to these guys again...

If anyone wants any idea on how bad a role-players this new artist-group (led by Tiberius) just read the new books, and their thoughts of the Kyr nation... :// Absolutely the opposite of what was...

I can accept that they did not like the old kyr profile. Its evilish. BUT it was successful, and no author deserves his work to be taken for nothing  and thrown away completely!

Disgusting!!!
Who am I?

Who are we?
Kik vagyunk mi?
have not prepared all of my most treasured characters in an online format yet, though.  Note that the pages are not finished yet, but I'm working on them... I am trying to write every page in both English _and_ Hungarian, that's what's taking so much time. Some of the pages, like that of Zhentil (in MAGUS) are half-ready. Some haven't been started (Evelyn in ADnD is only Hungarian), but the others are
at least formally bilingual: ie, the novels I wrote are usually up in only one language. Oh, and I use the Vampire character-pages to keep in touch with the GameMaster and the other Characters, so they're not mere descriptions, like that of Zhentil's or Evelyn's. I think getting to know a character this way may prove more fun for you all :)

Should you be interested in the Hungarian infos: [email protected] and I'll GLADLY explain! DO write, you'll propell me to work faster. And it's wonderful to get some feedback.
Kattints ide, ha magyarul akarod látni ezt az oldalt!
You can read about the respective role playing games below their logos / books. I call to your attention that this is merely my own opinion -- not the whole group's.

Furthermore, if you click on the names below the logos, you can find some of my characters, their statistics & stories (yeah, I wrote the novels).
drawings, sketches (separate page for that) etc :)
his page features the Role Playing Games (RPG) that I and "The Clan" are involved in.
REQUIEM
Bad news.

The "NewMagus" team considered the testgroups' opinion so much, that they never handed the magic-system to us for testing.

But, the new book is already on the shelves.

I didn't hear anything of the copyright stuff: I have no knowledge whether or not the dues have been paid to, and the RPG bought from  Novk Csand.

Of the new book:

On the very first day of its printing, I saw a copy on the shelf of a used-book-store.

Somebody had realized his/her error quickly enough. Do not make the mistake of buying it yourself.

It is full of "interesting" stuff, like "the damage of the charge of a knight wearing a full-plate-mail modifies as such:..." and on the next page, a new class starts.
My advice:
If somebody's interested in the OLD (ORIGINAL) M.A.G.U.S (the one that is not the Hungarian translation of the 3rd edition of AD&D)... look for these rule-books:

- First Lawbook/Rulebook (Els Trvnyknyv)
- New Scrolls (j Tekercsek)
- Secret Folio (Titkos Flins)
- Priests, Paladins I, II (Papok Paplovagok I,II)

Furthermore, the old Rune (Rna) magasines held useful / handy material... but it would take up too much space to jot each and every article down here. ...If anybody's interested:  WRITE!!! Please do write me. I'm bent on spreading the "good old MAGUS."

I CAN GIVE YOU INFO ON THE BOOKS THEMSELVES TOO! (Where /how to get them; for how much... etc) I'll even assist, if you happen to be foreign!
If you have trouble with Hungarian: you can consult me, and who knows? I might even do a translation for you if you seem enthusiastic enough. :)  ;)
(Note that I will have to look up the copyright stuff -- I'm not sure direct-translating is permitted).
