About The Author

           Gonzalo (Lito) Misa is a Ph.D. candidate in clinical psychology at the Ateneo de Manila University, Philippines. He is now in doing his dissertation proposal on the effectiveness of "I" Empowerment Therapy (IET) as compared to the 12 steps in treating the denial defense mechanism and dependency needs of middle-aged drug addicts in the Bicutan Drug Rehab Center in Manila.

           Lito has had 31 years of experience in teaching IET. Drug addicts have responded well to the therapy. So have gifted young artists at the Philippine High School for the Arts. Lito has also given the workshop to many people in mid-life crisis.

           In college, Lito graduated in economics and philosophy. After college he took up his Masters in Business Administration. His work has been in non-life insurance and real estate.

           Lito had tried be a priest and later a guru. These spiritual experiences, plus the experience of resolving inner conflicts through regression therapy, have become the basis of "I" Empowerment Therapy.

           Lito is happily married to Ads. He is blessed with three beautiful children: Khara, Gem and Marc.

*   Lito is now 59 years old. Lito's life has been a life of idealism, disillusionment, pain, shedding off and self-discovery. There is nothing left but the "I". "I" Empowerment is his life story.
