| 1. What happens at the first appointment?
During the first session we will discuss your reason for making your appointment and deal with all concerns you may have about hypnosis. If appropriate, hypnosis will follow. (Refer to Your Appointment). The cost of the treatment will also be discussed and number of sessions will be contracted. 2. How long are the sessions? The initial session will last approximately 90 minutes. Subsequent sessions 60 min 90 min Support session 30 min Group session 90 min 3. How many sessions will it take? Sometimes one session is all that is necessary to accomplish your goal. Depending on your need and treatment plan, the number of sessions will vary. Generally, we recommend at least three sessions to ensure maximum success. I am committed to your success and will not take you through the final stages of treatment until you are ready. 4. What can I expect between appointments? It is very important for you to practice self hypnosis and listen to the recorded session given to you. You are responsible for your own change. What you experience in hypnosis must be reinforced in order for the new behaviour to become established. At the beginning of each session we will review your week and address the discoveries and concerns you have. 5. Will this interfere with the care I am receiving from my doctor? Not necessarily. In fact, your doctor may refer you for hypnosis as part of your treatment plan. Especially for stress management, chronic pain control, fears and phobias. If you are seeking hypnosis for pain management, you must see your health practitioner prior to hypnosis treatment. Pain is an indication that something is not right. You do not want to mask the pain that may in fact be a cry for medical attention. 6. Will I reveal my deepest secrets? Remember, you are in control at all times. If there is a secret you do not want to reveal, it will not come out. The subconscious has some sort of built-in control mechanism. It will not allow things to be recalled and remembered if you are ready to deal with them. Only past experiences or insights that may help to better understand your present situation will be recalled. These include suppressed events or past held beliefs. You will not do something that is against your personal beliefs. Hypnosis is a voluntary behaviour. If you do not want it to happen, it wont! 9. How much does it cost? For a full listing of service pricing click here 10. Is hypnosis brainwashing? NO. Brainwashing is something that happens without you realizing it is happening, like media advertising. During the process of hypnosis, you are fully aware and will have personally created specific suggestions you will receive during your session and later use as part of your self hypnosis exercises. You are reprogramming part of yourself in order for you to have a healthier and more fulfilling life experience. You are not filling your mind with information others want you to believe.
