Lap Swimming Etiquette
Parents - Please go over these rules with your child on a regular basis.
Remember, practice is not a race unless the coach specifies that s/he wants to time you!   Pace yourself.
The fastest swimmer leads off; the slowest goes last.
To overtake another swimmer, lightly touch his/her foot several times.
If you overtake another swimmer, be prepared to hold that position; it is not appropriate to repeatedly pass and fall back.  Pace yourself.
If you feel a touch on the foot, kindly allow the faster swimmer to pass you.
If a faster swimmer overtakes you, do not attempt to speed up and "tag back" the other swimmer.
Leave on your interval as described by the coach.
Keep your eyes open to prevent a collision.
Be extra careful when you have fins on.
If you need to stop, move into the right-hand corner at the end of the lane.
Always be aware of what is happening in your lane.

Team Etiquette
All swimmers and non-swimmers under age 10 should have a supervising adult present.
After swim practice, please help to put away the equipment.
Encourage and acknowledge the hard work your teammates are doing.
When the coach is talking, please stay quiet and listen.
