| The Highland Volunteer Firefighter's need a new Brush Truck for fighting brush and field fires and we need help raising the money to purchase one. Our brush truck caught fire on the way to a brush fire last March. While the wires have been patched back together, it is still a concern for the department. We are currently holding a fundraiser called "Phoneraiser". If you have any spare cell phones that you do not need, you can donate them to the department. We are also accepting empty inkjet cartridges. The department is located at 920 South Broadway behind J.W.Wiseman Elementary behind Richland Estates. Thank you for your continued support. | The Highland Volunteer Fire Department held a Fall Festival Fundraiser on Saturday, September 30, 2006, from 10 am- 8 pm to raise money for the department. There was a great turnout this year and hope it is even bigger next year. This was the 5th annual festival. We have equipment that needs to be updated or purchased and do not have the funds to cover the cost. Also, this would cover the monthly expenses for the department such as fuel, maintenance on the trucks, equipment and building, utilities on the building and training for personnel. Thanks for such a great turn-out! Highland Volunteer Fire Department |
