Happy Tuesday! It really seems to me like it should be later in the week than this, but I guess not. Well, the morning started off so well. We told Maria she was going to "school". She was chipper as can be. She didn't even cry when I left for school (kids in tow)...she usually does. She wants to GO all of the time. Apparently after I left, Mark was finishing up getting ready and told Maria to get her jacket. She went running through our room; he heard a loud noise. Then silence. He went rushing in, and she was doing that hysterical kind of cry where you cannot even breathe. He tried figuring out what was hurt (besides the furniture that she apparently ran into :), then quickly figured out her nose when blood poured out all over her and him. Thankfully, very little got on the clothes, she was comforted, they left for "school". But apparently it didn't go quite as well today, probably a little post-traumatic stress from the morning's events. The good news is that when I picked her up, she was just fine. With Thanksgiving break next week on her normal "days", she will not be going for over two weeks again! It may be like starting over.... Oh, we have a few new words. "Okay" She uses this one a lot right now. We ask her to get her book (which she can also say if I haven't told you) before bed, she says, "Okay". We tell her to give something to Lauren, she says, "Okay". Another new word is peanuts. This time of year, I always have peanuts and candy corn (yes, mixed together...try it sometime!) in a bowl on the counter. I munch on it throughout the day. If she even thinks I have any in my hand, she is right there saying, "Peanut?" Don't let that fool you. She likes the candy corn too. Oh, and her last word is Bible. We sing the "B-I-B-L-E" alot and always shout, "BIBLE" at the end. Now she says it too. Maybe one day she will understand why we have Bibles... I know there are all kinds of burning thoughts and tidbits to share, but like I said, I am barely functioning. And since I really desire to be an effective teacher, I am going to bed earlier. Not early, but earlier. :) |

I figured I better update tonight, because it probably won't happen tomorrow night. (Tomorrow night is "parent letter" night when I get some of my parent/teacher communication done.) Whew! It was a LONG day. Indoor recess is rough on the kids and the teachers. :) But it was a good day. I was just drained when I came home. Thankfully the kids were too, and they ended up in bed a little early. I cannot say the same about me, but at least they are getting their beauty sleep. Maria had a good day at Grams' house. She had a bit of an attitude with her daddy this morning. He says it is payback for taking her to day care. We will see how tomorrow goes. I have to drop her off. It could be interesting. Maria likes her routine, like a normal 2 year old. And in her routine, Daddy drops her off, NOT Mommy. So we will see how it goes. At least it is just to Grams' house and not day care too. That would be a double whammy. Let's see... I heard a couple of new words tonight. One was "Peekaboo". She has said "boo" for a while, but this one is new. Another new word is "door". Oh, and "umbrella". I know there are others, but those stick out in my mind. By the way, Maria has been doing much better with Lauren. I moved her high chair to the other side of the table. I thought it would be a good "break" for the girls, particularly since they already share rooms and all. It seems to have helped. Okay, I am tired and cold and in need of my warm bed. Have a good night! |

Hello! This will be my typical short Friday update. I am just exhausted by Friday afternoon...more so this week than most. Mark has been out of town the last two days (got back today), so I was the sole parent for a few hours. The main thing it affects is our morning routine because I am responsible for taking Maria too. But it also affects my sleeping habits...it is SO hard for me to sleep when he is gone. But we survived. Maria is doing well. I think she might have a little stomach bug, but otherwise she is just talking and playing away! I know she has some new words, and you would think I would have them memorized. Every time she learns a new word, she says it OVER and OVER and OVER again. I know one is "finger". Oh, and "trash". She loves to point out all of the trashcans. She is also saying something to the effect of "What's that?" Oh, and "milk". She says that a lot at the table. In fact, she is learning ALL kinds of food words, like "bread" and "chips". Hmmm, must be my child. :) I will try to write more later. I hope you have a good weekend! |
| If you return to the Main Page, we hope that you will sign our guestbook. We hope to share the encouragement and kind words with Maria someday. |
