God had to make something of Himself; out of Himself; through Himself; by Himself; fill it with Himself; call it Himself; and yet make it so it could die, because, He Himself could not die.
This thing was so sacred, that Satan did not have the foggiest idea what God was doing. Do you know who offered that body, that Lamb? It was Melchisedec that slew the lamb! "Yet it pleased the Lord to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the Lord shall prosper in his hand" (Isaiah 53:10)
If you are in Jesus' hand, He will never lose you. The first man Adam lost me from God, but, Jesus found me and brought me back. I am indebted to Him. I owe Him everything. I could neve repay Jesus for what He has done for me. I could not get back There was no way back. No matter how good the man Abraham was, no matter how great Moses was, they were not the way back. But Jesus said that He was the way back. "Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." (John 14:6) Jesus is the way back.
I do not know how you feel about it, but I wonder how God's heart must have ached when He drove the man and woman from the garden, and looked at the ground and cursed it. (See Genesis Chapter 3) God might have thought something like this: "I took something out of you and made it look like me, and it is going to fall, and I will have to hang on a cross! I curse you for man's sake. I curse you!" As a result, instead of this earth being a garden, it became a place of briers and thistles. And instead of just cultivating it, man had to chop brush and briers and work in a place that once had been a paradise created by the hands of God. Man had everything on earth to sustain him and to make him live forever, but sin entered into it. |
