Eve's only hope was in childbearing and she could not bear a child without a husband. Adam had a sacrifice to make. Would he step down and become like her? Or would he choose to stay where he was? And God made Adam to love Eve. And the woman who was deceived fell, but the man in which the life seed of all the human race stepped down. It was God's plan. God knew it was going to happen. That is why Jesus had to come. That is why before there was ever a man named the first Adam, there was a Lamb slain that would become our sin when there was not even yet a sinner.
You better know where you have came from, and you better make sure you know where you are going. You must shake yourself; live victoriously, and quit running around just going through the motions of being "saved." You must portray on the outside what is supposed to have been spiritually done on the inside. If you are not, you may cause others to stumble and err. You talk about being happy, but you look sad. You talk about having victory, but you look defeated. You say, "Well, I feel....", but feeling has nothing to do with it! It is what you know about God that counts!
When Adam stepped down and partook of the enticement of his wife, sin entered his life and was passed upon every one of us while we were yet in the loins of Adam. "Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:" (Romans 5:12) When the children of Adam and Eve were born, they were conceived in iniquity and was born in sin. And they lost the fellowship with God. In the same manner, the church, that God lost, a woman that God lost, had to be reunited with God. But there was not any one in Adam's descendants that could get Eve back. But, thank God, there was a way back and Jesus is that way, and the only way to Salvation!
God had a way to get you back! He had a bridge over the troubled waters! Aren't you glad that He had a way through all the trials and hardships? Aren't you glad that He put that flaming sword and that cherubim to protect the way to the tree of life? Aren't you glad that God had a plan? |
