It starts with Super Sonic and Tails flying into the Island and Knuckles, the guardian of the Floating Island, attacks you. Gullable old Knuckles has been told by Robotnik (Eggman for you new fanboys) that Sonic is evil and in true tradition he believes him.
I have this on Sonic and Knuckles Collection for PC (I never had a Megadrive) so i'm afraid i don't have any Screenshots. This is a pretty good game though for it's worth. It doesn't however retain the charm of the first two and gets incredibly annoying, especially with the amount of times you have to get Chaos Emeralds before you turn Super.
The two player race mode remains and you can in one player mode choose to play as tails on his own. With the Sonic and Knuckles cart placed in underneath you can also play as Knuckles.
