Yay for good, caring doctors.
I went to my "great uncle" who is really a cousin, he's also a dermatologist. He
told me I have a bad reaction to a spider bite and need
- an antibiotic 4 times a day
(Keflex)
- a steroid injection
(that was fun, chatting about my degree with a nurse I've known since I was 2
while laying on the table getting a shot in my butt.)
- steroids x 6 day 1, x 5 day 2, x 4 day 3 and so on down to
none (Prednisone)
- antihistamines every 6 hours, twice the dosage on the box
(which makes them the prescription
strength)
- an steroid / anti-fungal cream twice a day
- an antibacterial cream 3 times a day
- and Tylenol / Advil as needed
(with an offer of pain killers if
needed)
- and an ample dose
of well wishes and kind care
So far it seems to be working. I can actually bend my finger a
little bit. The itchy tiny blisters are still spreading a little bit, but that
has greatly decrease. The huge swollen, infected looking blisters have gone down
greatly. My finger is pinkish, not purple. I can sleep!
There are some side effects, I'm just not very "with it" so I've decided not to
drive at all until I'm done with the steroids and cutting back on the
anti-histamines. The steroids make me hyper, the anti-histamines make me sleepy.
Together they make me squirrelly and a bit dizzy.
My typing has improved greatly.
No pictures tonight, I'm too sleepy to bother with them.
