Rob

I'm engaged to Rob.

We were planning on getting married September 2005, but fate had other plans.

In July, Rob had to have his gall bladder removed.
A stone was left in the bile duct (happens fairly often).
We didn't know this until August though
when he was jaundiced and sick.

August 31, he had an ERCP procedure, in Lafayette
we were led to believe that this was a very minor procedure,
which needed done as soon as possible and was fairly safe.

Immediately after the procedure, the surgeon told me that the surgery was unsuccessful
and there was "some bleeding" ... "but that should stop on it's own"
I had a bad feeling, but figured that was because I was pissed that they were "unsuccessful"
they held Rob for 2 or 3 hours and scheduled the procedure to be repeated,
the next day in a major hospital, by an experienced surgeon

About 1 hour into the 2 hour drive home, it was apparent that Rob was dieing'
really really dieing
I rushed him to the E.R., where they stabilized him and shipped him to Indy.
He spent the night in the PCU floor (a step down from ICU)
the next day the repeated the procedure, repaired the damage and removed the stone
they also estimated that he'd lost 6 pints of blood.

He survived, that's the most important part.

We'll get around to re-scheduling our wedding, and one day, there will be wedding updates here.

Here's a pseudo-wedding update for you.  We haven't decided to set a date yet, but we're talking jewelry.
Not rings though, I can't wear rings.  We're thinking bracelets.
I'd love titanium, but we can't really afford that, so we're looking at stainless steel.
