Tigers

I don't really title my art work.  Most of what I do is already titled elsewhere anyway.

These tigers are based off a photograph in the National Geographic (that's where a great deal of my inspiration comes from).  The photo appeared in a great story about a tiger named Sita which the National Geographic had been following for years (she appeared in more then one issue).  The photograph is great, very inspirational.  Go to National Geographic's website to see it (click here)

I had drawn the tigers in pencil as an assignment for my high school art class, but I didn't like the stripes, they just didn't stand out enough for me.  So I went over them with ink.  I really liked the effect of the dark stripes with the pencil shading.

I then framed the picture and gave it to my mom.  She sat in on the piano.  I don't think she likes it as well as I do.  Tigers aren't really her thing, but I thought the picture matched her new living room.
