Lee's Surrender Rugs

Recently I wove Lee's Surrender.  I have wanted to weave this pattern ever since I saw it, but was never quite ready. Finally feeling up to the task I wound the warp and threaded the loom.  It was quite a bear to get threaded because of the complexity of the pattern.

I wove 5 blankets in this pattern, black, green, blue, pink & black & gold.  Below are some pictures of the black rug.
Some of the photos were taken at night and do do represent the colors well.  I took the pink rug to the county fair and won a Sweepstakes (1st place).  The pink rug is eligiable to go the the State fair next year.  I will have photos of that rug up soon.

Dark blocks in center area are the center repeat portion of the rug.  There are 7 dark blocks in the body of the rug.  At this point I am just starting to weave the ending border of this pattern.
This design begins and ends with a blooming leaf border.  This is the completed blooming leaf.
This pictures shows the end of the rug.   The beginning of the rug also has the same border pattern.

Photos of all Lee's Surrender rugs will be posted soon.
