in book five, and you'll find out all about her."
- "Harry will see the real 'Mad-Eye'
Moody in book five."
- We will find out why Voldemort killed Lily
and James Potter.

Dark Arts teacher.
- "You see Lupin in Book Five. Yes, you
will see a lot of old characters in Book Five."

Rumors
This part of this page has been set up to present theories and and
rumors that have been submitted to the staff or were created by the
editors of this section and/or the webmasters, no doubt while drinking
Sprite, because Sprite rules. This section and most of the theories were
written by Emerson, so if you have a problem or something to submit, email
me.
NOTE: IF it's in italic it's a rumor and
there's nothing to back it up, otherwise it's a theory.
- Hagrid will die. (No!) JK Rowling said that
one of Harry's "fans" would die AND, during Harry Potter
Hour on the Rosie O'Donnell show Rosie asked Richard Harris (Dumbledore)
if he was signed up for all seven movies and he said yes, when she
asked Robbie Coltrane (Hagrid) he replied, "sort of". That
leads us to believe that Hagrid might get the axe in book five.
- Hagrid will be able to use magic. He will
be able to do it openly without Dumbledore's permission.
- Hermione will be made a prefect.
- Harry could be the heir of Godric Gryffindor.
Here's why this is possible:
- When Harry finally finds the right wand
for him at Ollivander's, the wand emits red and gold sparks -
Gryffindor colors!
- We know that Harry's parents lived at
Godric's Hollow. Godric who? Godric Gryffindor of course!
- Near the end of book 2, when Harry pulls
the sword out of the sorting hat, it had the words "Godric
Gryffindor" engraved on the handle. Later on, Dumbledore
says to Harry, "Only a true Gryffindor could have done
that."
- Harry's birthday is July 31st, which
falls under astrological sign of Leo the Lion. The Lion is the
Gryffindor house mascot.
- Harry will visit Azkaban. JK Rowling said
that Harry would visit all new places in book V. Could one of those
places be Azkaban? Or perhaps the Ministry of Magic?
- Draco and Harry may need to work together
for part of the book and have a short-friendship before becoming
enemies again.
- Voldemort might kill Dumbledore creating
even more panic in the wizard world. (This is not very likely)
- Harry could go and live with Sirius Black
after the Dursley's is no longer a safe-haven.
- Ron might join the Gryffindor quidditch
team as a chaser or a beater.
- Lily might be revealed as a Death Eater or
used to be a Death Eater. J.K. Rowling said that "something
HUGE will be revealed about Lily Potter". And she could have
helped Voldemort by getting inside information. Remember, this is
only speculation. Please do not email and tell us how stupid we are
for putting this up.
- At the end of book four Fleur Delacour said
to Harry that she would try to get a job at Hogwarts (to improve her
English)...could she be the new Defense Against the Dark Arts
teacher? Or...
- Arabella Figg might be the new DADA (Defense
Against the Dark Arts) teacher. J.K. Rowling said that we would
"learn all about her in book five" and that she would
"play more of a role in book five". JKR also said that
there would be a female DADA teacher, thus creating the previous two
rumors. This is the most likely scenario.
- Hagrid and Madame Maxime go on a mission to
convert the giants from the mountains to be on Dumbledore's side
before Voldemort does. The giants will play a pivotal role in book
5.
- At the end of book four Dumbledore said some
mighty suspicious things to Snape. From the looks of things Snape
might go back to Voldemort as a spy for Dumbledore. The question we
need to ask is, would Voldemort would fall for that? No, he's too
smart. He would torture Snape and kill him. So what IS Snape doing?
Follow up from Rhaven:
Obviously Voldemort won't take him back, that would be pretty
stupid. I think that he is going to try to get as many Death Eaters
as possible to abandon Voldemort and either fight against him, or
turn into spies for Dumbledore.
- Another wizarding school might play
Quidditch against Hogwarts.
- Snape will marry Mrs. Norris and be
forever labeled as a "wiper of other peoples' bottoms' who is
addicted kitty litter and has hairy armpits, small feet and a smell
of a cabbage". Snape is the co-founder (along with Prof.
Trelawney) of KLAA - Kitty Litter Addicts Anonymous and currently
lives with his new wife in his brand new diaper-shaped condo in
Hogsmeade.
- Mr. Weasley (or somebody else) could
become the Minister of Magic. If Fudge steps down (or is overthrown)
somebody will need to take his place, and we already know Dumbledore
won't.
- Near the end of book four, when Dumbledore
tells Sirius to rouse up "Mundungus Fletcher, Arabella Figg,
the old crowd..." I believe that the "old crowd"
Dumbledore is referring to is a group of powerful wizards set
against Voldemort and all his followers; the Order of the Phoenix.
So here's who could be some of the members
of the order:
- Mundungus Fletcher
- Arabella Figg
- Albus Dumbledore
- Sirius Black
- Remus Lupin
- Prof. McGonagall
- The other Hogwarts teachers?
Then of course there are all of the witches
and wizards of the ministry of magic who could be members. It just
depends on how big this organization is.
- There were several mentions of Mrs. Figg in
Goblet of Fire. One of them was that the tent that Harry and the
Weasley's stayed in at the Quiddith World Cup was furnished in the
same way as Mrs. Figg's house. Another mention is when Dumbledore
tells Sirius to "round up the old gang" such as Lupin,
Mundungus Fletcher, and Arabella Figg.
When Dudley is going to the zoo in Book 1,
Mrs. Figg breaks her leg so Harry must go with the Dursley's. It is
then that he talks to the snake, and makes the glass vanish. That is
the first sign that we know he is a wizard. Is Mrs. Figg that breaks
her leg the same Mrs. Arabella Figg Dumbledore mentions near the end
of book 4? It is very much like Rowling to foreshadow in her series,
such as the mention of Sirius Black in Book 1.
So, after reading so many theories and
reading the parts Mrs. Figg was mentioned so many times, I have come
to a conclusion that Mrs. Figg is a witch sent by Dumbledore
to protect Harry in the Muggle world. After all, is it really
Dumbledore-like to send Harry into the Muggle world? Harry would be
one of the most famous wizards in history, and no Muggle knows that.
So couldn't a Voldemort supporter come up to Harry on the street in
the Muggle world and try to kill him? That is why Dumbledore must
have sent someone to guard him, and that someone is Arabella Figg. I
believe we will be hearing more from Mrs. Figg in Book 5 and the
rest of the series, as she, like Dumbledore, Lupin, and Black, will
probably be part of "The Order of the Phoenix." -Ben
[Follow up from Emerson]
I agree with Ben here, BUT, I think that Arabella Figg alone is not
enough protection for Harry as Dumbledore states in one of the book
that Harry is protected on Privet Drive by ancient magic. Maybe Mrs.
Figg is Harry's secret keeper...
- The Wand Core Thereum:
Supposedly...No one knows why You-Know-You couldn't kill Harry:
well, if you read book 4 carefully, when Dumbledore was explaining
to Sirius about Priori Incanteneum, Dumbledore says that when two
"brother" wands meet, they will not function properly
against each other, like You-Know-Who and Harry when they dueled.
Well, the wand chooses the wizard, so Harry was destined for the
wand with You-Know-You's same pheonix feather, so You-Know-Who's
curse wouldn't function properly, just like Priori Incantenteum,
except Harry didn't have a wand, so the curse would backfire instead
of bringing out the Dark Lord's previous curses. It's like "I
am rubber and you are glue..." Harry was rubber, Lord Voldemort
was glue. Get it? -Mikey
