We're just starting out, so we may have to add a few things as we go. So, yes, the rules are subject to change. Just be warned. RULES 1. You'll need to have a journal for
your character. It would be great if you would update, IN CHARACTER at
least once a week.
2. OOC posts go in the OOC community, or in a well-labeled entry on your character's journal. Never on the main community. 3. NO NET SPEAK ALLOWED! Things like this: "U are so write! ppl LiC u R so WeIrd!!!!!!!!!1111 Plz emal me backiesss!!! L8ters!!! Hugz 'n' Kissez LOL! Lmao!!" and so on, will result in your mysterious disappearance from the community. So there. 4. If you're going away for a while, make sure the mods, and any people you're playing with, know about it. It sucks when people disappear in the middle of plots. 5. This is not going to be Hogwarts School of Abuse, Self Harm, Angst, Sex, and Misery. No. If you plan on having your character involved with anything extreme like that, make sure you put it in your application so the mods can approve of it, or discuss it with you. A little is okay, but don't go overboard. Keep it with in reason. 6. (In accordance with number 5) This RPG may contain mature themes. Such as, inappropriate language, sexual situations, slash, violence, self-mutilation, drinking, rape, incest, twincest, torture, male/male, female/female, betrayal, and any thing whatever else the members can come up with, within reason. If this bothers you, then please, don't join. Also, scenes that are not appropriate for everyone should stay behind a journal cut. Not everybody wants to read about that sort of thing, so let's try to be conciderate. 7. Be respectful of other members. We all want to RP, so that means we all have to live together, work together and otherwise tolerate one another. An RPG is like a family: love them or hate them, you're stuck with them, so might as well make the most of it. Disrespect to other players will incite the rage of the mods. 8. We all like avatars. Choose someone to represent your character. It can be the actor from the Harry Potter movie, or some other person, or even some good fanart. Try to be close to your character. IE: If you're character is a first year, using a picture of, say, Orlando Bloom, isn't going to work. It doesn't matter if "OMG! HES So HOT!!!!111one!". Just, no. 9. What you post and where you post it: In Character journal entries - The thoughts and personal feelings of your character go in your journals. This is done in first person. IE: "Today I fell down three flights of stairs and broke every bone in my body, except my right hand and wrist." Third Person Role Playing - The adventures and every day life of your character and interactions with others. This is posted in the main community (hogwartsrpgnet). IE: "Saber was laying at the bottom of the three flights of stairs that he had just fallen down. He wasn't sure what he tripped over, but, as he lay on the floor, he wished that he had been paying more attention. He was pretty sure that every bone in his body was broken. Except maybe his right hand and wrist." Instant Messanger Logs - If you play out a scene over an instant message program, and it's not alternate universe or something like that. You can post that in the main community (hogwartsrpgnet). Be sure it include the following information. Who: (The Characters Involved) What: (Brief summary, one or two sentances about what's going on.) When: (When't it happening) Where: (Where is it at) Why: (Why is it happening? Again, one or two sentances.) The rest goes behind a cut. OOC stuff - Stuff that has nothing to do with your ccharacter, or is something you want to talk about. This goes in the OOC community (neweraooc)> Birthday announcements, news, your notice of leaving for a bit, that sort of thing. Just, be nice. The rules are subject to change. We'll try to let everyone know when we make on of these changes, so it's not a big suprise. |
