| ABOUT US |
| The ACCUFOAM line of hot wire foam cutting machines are the result of evolutionary changes to the original S-TEL 3000 hot wire machine designed by Scott Merritt and produced by the Merritt Co. In August of 1995, HP Machine purchased the tooling and design of the S-TEL 3000 from Merritt Co. HP Machine has been in business since 1991 and has been under the current ownership since January 1995. We incorporated the business as HPM, Inc. in 1997. Since it's inception HP Machine has provided tooling support to the major window covering manufactures (Venetian blinds, vertical blinds, shades, etc.) in the US and Canada. We produce high precision punches and dies used in the manufacture of metal, wood, plastic and fabric window coverings. Our customers include Levolor, Kirsch and Hunter-Douglas. Since acquiring the Merritt Co. we have produced and sold over 60 S-TEL 3000 and ACCUFOAM hot wire machines, including over 30 CNC machines. We have also retrofitted several manual machines with our CNC systems, including two of the original machines that Scott Merritt built . We have also produced many accessory machines such as Arch Cutters, Base and Cap machines, Auxiliary Power Supplies, etc. Our machines are being used in Canada, Mexico, Kuwait, Singapore and China as well as the United States. The most common usage for the machines is the production of architectural foam shapes for the building industry. Other uses include: custom packaging materials, foam wall systems, custom signage, store displays, stage sets for the entertainment industry and, increasingly, custom molds used in the production of precast concrete shapes. While Scott's original design utilized welded and painted steel construction for the table framework that was more than adequate for the purpose, it also severely limited our ability to produce custom machines. While we list several 'standard' models, we have the ability to custom build machines to match the customers needs. We have designed and produce proprietary aluminum castings that, combined with structural aluminum tubing, allow us to assemble high quality, attractive and functional tables in most any size desired. We have also designed custom extrusions for the horizontal guide rails and vertical components of the harp. |
