| Have the person who's hair you are doing sit in a chair with their head upside down (close to their knees) Then have them turn their head away from you like shown in this picture. (Right) Crown Braiding is very similar to a French Braid in that you pull hair from the side of the head. But in a Crown Braid you only pull from one side. If you are right handed (like me) you would pull from the right side and if you are left handed then you would pull from the left. Just do whatever feels comfortable. Start a small braid right behind their ear. After crossing each strand over once start pulling from the side. |

| (NOTE: Make sure you don't pull too much hair. Keep all the strands of hair you pull in on one side of the braid so that you don't get gaps in the braid your second time around.) | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| Continue pulling hair from the side and adding it to the braid. As you are doing this you will have to have her turn her head so that you can braid all the way around. She may have to change positions many times while you are braiding for it to work. (Left) When you get to the second round continue pulling from the same side but make sure you reach under the first round of braid so that you don't miss any hair and have large loops sticking out when you are done. | After you go around twice and you are close to where you started (behind the ear) end the braid leaving a "pony tail" out the back. Then finish the braiding the hair down to the tip. Fasten witha concealable band and rap around the "pony tail" tucking it under the braid. Fasten with concealable pins. The remaining hair I like to spiral curl. I use SASSY SPRITS SPRAY GEL Because it holds the curls very well but still lets them bounce! Only take small amounts of hair while you are curling so that you have LOTS of volume. This braid takes alot of practice! But, it is worth it! You will never have more people complement you on your hair and ask "WHO DID IT?" Some people can even master doing this braid to themselves! |
