There are many myths about wolves that aren't true. For example, wolves are said to be violent creatures. In reality, wolves are generally quiet, peaceful creatures unless they have been frightened or are starving. They are more afraid of humans, than we are of them. Also, many people easily mistake the more agressive coyote for the wolf, as they look similar to an untrained eyes.  However, because of the mis-identifications, predjudices of citizens and lawmakers alike, untruths, and myths that have spread like wildfire about them, our friends the wolves are quickly becoming extinct. They are already endangered. Please, help us save our friends ...

What's new at SOTWBOTW? Well, for starters, a lot of site-design change, among other things. Please browse the site, as many of the pages here have changed, only some of which include:

Articles:      Updated, new articles, & more.
Links:          New format, more links, links are categorized, etc.
Fun Stuff:   Updated, and the non-working items have been deleted, new things have been added

Site Additions: You can now check out our two "other sites" if you would like. At both sites (as well as at this one), there are Calendars of Events with Wolf-Related functions listed. More will be added as I am made aware of them, or as you add them. Also, there are Articles, Pictures, Links to petitions to sign, and much more.

You still don't know why? They are continuing to sell real wolf pelts (and other such items at their site) and are refusing to discontinue these practices. See some of our articles for more details. (P.S. I have seen some of the letters that have been recieved in response to persons encouraging them to discontiue this behavior. They were rude and appalling! And, those were just the nice ones!)

Also, please stop by NAWA and see the updates on the wolf recovery programs. They have information on the Yellowstone, Wisconsin and Mexican wolf reintroduction programs. Also, they have petitions that you may be interested in signing. 

NEW! (April 8, 2002):  NAWA is in the middle of a very serious, and important rescue attempt.  You can read more about it at  http://www.nawa.org/arizona1.html .  If you can help, please do.  These wolves are in desperate need of your love, compassion, help, and prayers.
