HOWIE NEWMAN
BASEBALL MUSIC
Twenty-nine years ago, Howie Newman released what is believed to be the first album consisting solely of original baseball songs (well, at least he believes it). Although many songwriters have followed suit over the past three decades, few have approached his wit and fond appreciation of the game. After all, the man was a sportswriter for 18 years, covering two World Series and numerous playoff games as well as a myriad of other events.
