The Resinators--"Way Gone" + 1
Dart   2000

One of the unfortunate realities of life is that there just isn't enough time to really consume every bit of quality rock n' roll that exists. The main culprit that impedes this mission is simply not being made hip to stuff in the first place. The beautiful thing about at least trying to soak it all in is that you wind up stumbling across important output you missed the first time, every now and then. Kind of like with this 7" released by the Resinators back in 2000. It turns out their 2004 demo is no fluke--these guys have been great for quite awhile now.

The platter kicks off with
"Way Gone." This one is a reved up wigout that never lets up. It has a real vintage feel to it--almost like it's begging for a touch of farfisa. Still, it holds up great without it, kicking things off in style.

The B-side closes out with
"Gotta Go." The Resinators re-cut this one on their new demo but this earlier take is just as convincing. While not as raw as the newer version, this one has enough primal swagger to appeal to fans of a band such as the Demolition Doll Rods.

Without question, this 7" is very worth seeking out. If you've been hip to the general comings and goings within this realm of music for some time, you'll be kicking yourself if you missed it initially. This is a good primer to what the
Resinators are capable of. Still, be prepared--the band's 2004 demo is especially raw-assed and sick rock n' roll bashing of the highest caliber. Proceed without caution.
