| LEBANON ENTERPRISE - 8/5/1910 DEATH CLAIMS URIAH MYERS Mr. Uriah Myers, age 55 years, who recently underwent an operation in this city for cancer of the bone and for several days following improved to such an extent that his recovery was thought probable died late Saturday night. The remains were taken to his home at Mitchellsburg Sunday and on the following day the funeral and interment took place at Haysville, Rev. R.L. Purdom conducting the services. Mr. Myers was born in this county on 3/10/1855 and spent practically the whole of his life in the neighborhood of his birthplace. A year or so ago, he moved to Mitchellsburg where he was engaging in the merchantile business and was the owner of the store there at the time of his death. He had been in poor health for many months past and a few weeks ago when his condition became critical, he was brought here and his right leg amputated in effort to save his life. The operation was apparently successful and his condition became so much better it was believed that he would recover. Mr. Myers is survived by a wife who was Miss Tillie Taylor and to whom he was married May 18, 1888 and four children and by one brother and two sisters who have the sympathy of a large number of friends in their sorrow. Note: The 4 children are Eugene Lee, Clarence Taylor, Ellen and Edna; brother is Mr. John H. Myers, sisters are Mrs. Matthew "Millie" Isaacs and Mrs. John David "Lou" Hourgian. |
