Shiny hair
A warm olive oil scalp massage two or three times a week will help stimulate and moisturize the scalp. Apply some mildly warmed oil to your hair and gently massage into your scalp evenly with your fingertips. Leave on overnight if you can, if not, leave on for at least an hour or two, then get it out by shampooing your hair. The scalp massage helps you relax and aids sound sleep as well.
For a quiker treatment after shampooing rub in a mixture of extra virgin olive oil and egg yolk, juice of a lemon and a little beer. Leave for 5 minutes and wash out.
Skin moisturising
To moisturize dry skin, apply daily Extra Virgin Olive Oil directly to dry spots and stretch marks. Be sure to use Extra Virgin Olive Oil - "Pure" or "Light" olive oils have been chemically processed.
For soft skin
Mix together equal parts of extra virgin olive oil and salt. Massage the body and wash off.
Aching muscles
Massage area with a mixture of extra virgin olive oil and rosemary.
For high blood pressure
Boil 24 olive leaves in 250 ml of water for 15 minutes. Drink the liquid morning and night for two weeks.
Face mask
Make a face mask with olive oil and an avocado or a good quality of clay mud. Leave for 5-10 minutes, then rinse.
Against dundraff
Rub a mixture of extra virgin olive oil and eau de Cologne into hair. Rinse.
Hair mask
Mix two whole eggs with four tablespoons of olive oil. Smooth through hair. Wrap head with a cloth and allow to penetrate for 10 minutes. Rinse well.
Hair mask for dry or damaged hair
Blend 1 banana with 1/3 cup of extra virgin olive oil.
Shampoo and rinse your hair.
Towel dry.
Apply on your slightly damp hair. Especially on the ends.
Wrap your hair with a plastic wrap.
Leave it on 30 minutes to an hour or so.
Remove the plastic wrap
Rinse your hair.
If you find it too oily, shampoo once and rinse off again.
Against wrinkles
Rub a mixture of extra virgin olive oil and the juice of a lemon into the skin before going to bed.
Against acne
Gently rub skin with a mixture of 250ml extra virgin olive oil and 10 drops of lavender oil.
Stronger nails
Soak nails in warm extra virgin olive oil for 5 minutes.
Sooth tired feet
Massage feet with extra virgin olive oil.
Reduce the effects of alcohol
Take a couple of spoonfuls of extra virgin olive oil before drinking.
