| NEW CARLISLE- In one of the most competitive tournament fields in Home Town Days history, the New Carlisle Newts were able win their second straight tournament championship. The Newts defeated Speedy's Chickenheads, 29-28, in 7 innings in the title game at Migley Field.
It was Speedy's Chickenheads' second consecutive appearance in the Final Four. They defeated the Banana Slugs, 13-7, in the semifinals to reach the championship game. The Newts also rolled in the semifinals, defeating Multiple Scorgasms, 18-6. New Carlisle is 12-0 all-time in the tournament. John Arndt won Friday's Home Run Derby, defeating Garrett Curless, 9-8, in the finals. |
