At last... EWO is back, with a bang, after just 8 short months. EWO welcomes London's Ludes to Glasgow next Saturday. They play The Vale alongside the ever mighty KAIN, who are doing a low key warm up for their third trip to take over Alan McGee's Death Disco, more to come on that score, and Shrewsbury band The Killer Replay.
A lot has gone on since we last updated, so we're not going to tell you what you already know. Somethings change, The Owsley Sunshine no longer have just one album, they have given the world another stunning album, 'Another Kind Of Summer', KAIN have a new drummer, and Ian Brown has been playing sets of Stone Roses songs with tribute band Fools Gold! Somethings however, never change, Peter Doherty is still suffering in a drug related hell, and The Libertines have been forced to carry on without him for the forseeable future. Jet are still baws. Mr David Viner is still a firm favourite with EWO, his second album, This Boy Don't Care (out NOW on Loog), winning the hearts of many a reviewer, not to mention him wowing the nation on his double header tour with the wonderful Nic Armstrong (if you haven't heard of him where have you been? Oh yes, you DO need EWO's help don't you? Click here to order his debut album, Greatest White Liar). And despite seeing 'legends' James Brown, The Pixies and Bob Dylan, Love with Arthur Lee remains the best, though Iggy and The Stooges gave them a good run for their money.

According to NME.com The Strokes have revealed plans to release a live album in October. The first of the London shows from last years December tour was recorded by the BBC and is likely to be the first offical live Strokes release. The Strokes are also said to be working on tracks for their third studio album at the moment.
A lot's happened since our last update... most noteably, Glasgow's hardest working band, KAIN, have been signed to a new Warner label called Rushmore. Brilliant news, well deserved and long over due. To celebrate their going on the road with fellow EWO favourites, Yorkshire scamps, 10,000 Things. Kain join the tour in Birmingham on October 5th, but due to previous commitments can't make the Liverpool and Manchester shows (see the gigs page on www.kainrock.com for more details). EWO is proud to announce that we shall be putting on the Glasgow leg of the tour, at Nice'n'Sleazys on Sunday 24th October. Kain and 'The Things will be joined by the wonderful Figure 5 and EWO dj's in between bands. All this for just 6. Tickets will be avalible from www.ticketweb.co.uk soon. For more details on all the bands, take a look below.

Check out the gigs page for an updated gig guide. Lots going on in Glasgow for the next month or two... The Dead 60's and The Departure are both doing headline shows, and The Owsley Sunshine are supporting 60's Garage legends The Electric Prunes, not to mention the return of The Bees, and The Zutons. There is some bad news though... The Sights have cancelled their UK dates supporting The Datsuns due to "timing issues with our single". They do promise to be "back in a few months, supporting the new album". Smells like a white lie to us... rumour has it the album isn't set for release till early 2005. We've also heard there's been yet another line up change for The Sights. Drummer Dave Shettler has apparently left the band.
