I am a HR manager in Singapore Press Holdings.

I am in charge of HR function, recruitment, resignation, staff welfare and training.

More than 10 years.

4. Was this the position you held when you first joined the company?
No, I started off as a executive.

5. During your years of experience there, were there any major changes in the company?
There were many organisational and departmental changes.

6. Have you ever brought about any form of change in the company?
Yes. Some staffs were very slow when they work and shy to speak up to improve on their productivity. I suggest to have a suggestion box for those who can write and for those who cannot write, I suggested to the management for the individual departments to hold monthly meetings to let the workers speak up.

7. Do you think it is difficult to bring about change in the company?
Yes of course but after a while the staffs will see the benefits of doing it. So I do not see any problems with it.

8. Do you empower your employees? In what way?
Yes of course.I delegate jobs and responsibilities to them and then guide them whenever problems arise.

I have a sales team under me, im in charge of training them, and of course evaluate their performance. I am also involved in the recruitment of new sales executives.

No, I started off as a sales executive.

That you will have to ask my boss.

6. How do you see the importance of goals?
Goals are impt tools to help motivate and guide my team. I think it is very important to set goals and achieve them. I always encourage my team to set their own goals and work towards them because it acts as a motivational tool for them to work harder.

7. What are your expectations of your colleagues (subordinates)?
I expect them to achieve goals. and I always tell them that I believe that they can do it if they put their heart into it.

8. How do you lead your colleagues towards the implementation of any changes in the company?
When there are changes, they will definitely want to know why there's a change. I always believe in letting them understand the rationale and benefits behind the change. It is with a mutual understanding that helps them be more receptive towards any change.

I am a sales executive and we have monthly sales targets to meet.

Around 1.5 years.

3. How did you get this job?
I got to know Mr Low while I was attending a seminar. I was rather inspired when he shared his job with me. I found it really interesting and when he invited me to join him, I took up the offer.

4. So what do you think of him as a manager?
He is like a role model. He is very driven, very motivating and when he speaks, it makes you just want to listen to him.

5. So in you opinon, is he a charismatic leader?
Definitely.

6. Do you think the goals he set are realistic?
Yes they are. He has proved to us that it is achieveable and he always tells us we can do it if we put our heart into doing it.

7. Do you see any changes in yourself after working for him?
I've learnt how to set goals and learn to work towards them under his coaching. I'm also learning to be more confident with myself.

8. Do you have any intentions of changing job?
Presently, no because I believe I have a lot more to learn from Mr. Low.
