| "Go to now, ye that say, Today or to-morrow we will go into such a city, and continue there a year, and buy and sell, and get gain: Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away. For that ye ought to say, If the Lord will, we shall live, and do this, or that." James 5:13-15 I have probably used this verse of Scripture more than once since I've been doing these devotions ~ perhaps not this exact verse, but particularly pertaining to God's will in our lives. The more I look around me out there in this "world" we temporarily dwell in, I ask myself, "Does he/she even know the phrase, "the good Lord willing?" Do these people even include God in their plans? I'm sure you often see and hear the same type of issues around you. Anyway, it breaks my heart, and I just felt guided to share with you once more, the will of God in our lives. James noted that even we Christians are tempted to make plans without considering the will of God. He reminds us that we, who live under a loving God, depend on His good pleasure. When we plan for the future, we must seek guidance and direction form Him. And when we add, "If the Lord wills," we are doing more than tacking on a pious phrase. Those words express our willingness to change or abandon our plans in favor of God's design for us. Because we know the Master planner, we can accept His ways for us! The God who sacrificed His own Son to redeem us will not let us down! THE WILL OF GOD The will of God will never take you, Where the grace of God cannot keep you; Where the arms of God cannot support you; Where the riches of God cannot supply your needs; Where the power of God cannot endow you. The will of God will never take you, Where the spirit of God cannot work through you; Where the wisdom of God cannot teach you; Where the army of God cannot protect you; Where the hands of God cannot mold you. The will of God will never take you, Where the love of God cannot enfold you; Where the mercies of God cannot sustain you; Where the peace of God cannot calm your fears; Where the authority of God cannot overrule for you. The will of God will never take you, Where the comfort of God cannot dry your tears; Where the Word of God cannot feed you; Where the miracles of God cannot be done for you; Where the omnipresence of God cannot find you. ~ Author Unknown May God bless you with a wonderful day as you trust in His good and gracious will for your lives.
