| "The LORD hath prepared his throne in the heavens; and his kingdom ruleth over all. Bless the LORD, ye his angels, that excel in strength, that do his commandments, hearkening unto the voice of his word. Bless ye the LORD, all ye his hosts; ye ministers of his, that do his pleasure. Bless the LORD, all his works in all places of his dominion: bless the LORD, O my soul. Psalm 103:19-22 A Christian is a companion to the holy angels. Angels do things in service to God. The psalmist in this great psalm that calls on God's people to praise Him, tells us that angels do the work of the Lord and listen to and obey His Word. Daniel experiences this when the Lord sent angels to do His will and spare his life when King Darius had ordered him thrown into the den of lions. As Christians, redeemed by the shed blood of Jesus and given new life in Him, we join the invisible angel messengers of the Lord in serving Him and praising His Holy Name. Empowered by the Holy Spirit and the Good News of the Gospel, we are called into our Lord's ministry to do His work and obey His Word. The angels are models for us, showing how we should continually listen to God's Word and do His will. Application: We, as Christians, have an awesome responsibility, and a glorious privilege ~ to do the work of the Lord! He who spared not His only-begotten Son, will give us all things needed to carry out our Christian tasks in thoughts, word, and deed. We are companions to the angels! It's such a privilege to live the great life of a Christian! May God bless you with a wonderful day as you ask Him to assist you in doing His work which brings glory to His matchless Name.
