"So then, faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God."
Romans 10:17

This very small verse of Scripture has much more significance and impact than most folks realize. And this morning, this verse has my spirit soaring for God's little ones who He has given adults to raise and bring up in the Lord.

Parents have always read stories to their children because they stimulate their imagination. I would imagine also that most of the stories read are fairy tales ~ pure fiction! These little fairy tales are read over and over until they actually become real to children.

Now, just a couple weeks away from Christmas we have "Santa Claus" coming. Santa Claus has become so real and commercially successful that he has all but eased the baby Jesus out of His manger! And, soon to follow Santa's act, we will have the "Easter Bunny" with the colored eggs, which for many all but replace the empty tomb of our risen Lord! Isn't it strange how "fairy tales" are acceptable in this world, but "true and real" stories from our Bible are looked upon as fairy tales?

"Once upon a time" a babe was born in Bethlehem ~ baby Jesus! He was truly born, He truly lived, He truly died, and He truly rose again! And truth be known, He's coming again! All of this is a true story of God's plan and a wonderful true story to tell over and over again!

"Once upon a time" may not begin the many true stories in our Bible, but the stories are interesting to read, challenging to our little ones and most importantly, essential today! So, all you parents with the children God has given you to raise up in Him, may I say, please stop wasting money on fairy tale books and use the ONE BOOK which contains more stories than you will get through before your child can read for themselves. Our world is so full of fictional characters today as it is. Our children are very impressionable. Let's start impressing them with the birth of Jesus for our story this evening. For Jesus is the reason for every season and the Bible is full of His wonderful stories.

May you have a wonderfully blessed day in and with the Lord today as your desire for the truth comes from within as you read "facts" and not "fiction" to God's little ones.
