"Wherefore I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus, and love unto all the saints, Cease not to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers." Ephesians 1:15-16
Perhaps you may want to grab a pen and piece of paper here to make a list of people who have touched your life in a special way. You may wish to begin your list with your pastor, a parent, a neighbor, a co-worker, or even an on-line friend. I know there are many out there who I have met through the internet that I have given thanks for! Next to these names you have listed, write down something about them that makes them special to you.
Now, may I ask the important question, "have you ever told them how special they are to you?" Have you ever told them the influence they have had on your life? This is a great time to send a card or e-mail to that "special person." A card that expresses gratitude for the impact they have had on your life. Also, a small prayer of thankfulness offered up to the Lord would be appropriate for bringing these special people into your life.
Now let us begin another list. One of which you might list a difference you are making in someone else's life. Add to this list the names of those you will strive to influence for the goodness of God. Then don't forget to pray that opportunities will be opened to bring that influence to bear.
As you finish your list, please add a prayer of thanksgiving for the person of Jesus Christ. He comes into our lives without us asking, while we were still yet sinners, and chose us as that special person in His life!
