"But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you." Matthew 6:33

Here is a practical illustration to reinforce the idea that God's will, what He wants us to do, should take precedence. When it does, there will be time enough for all the activities that ordinarily mark our daily lives. It's a matter of priorities!

Now, take a jar and fill it three-quarters full of dry rice. Then fill a second jar with ping-pong balls. The rice is going to represent all the activities that take up so much of our time each day. The ping- pong balls represent those things the Lord would have us do.

Now, try pouring the ping-pong balls into the jar of rice. Not many will fit, will they? There just isn't enough room. Now reverse the process and put all the balls back in the jar and pour in the rice. Isn't it amazing that when we get our priorities straight, the Lord's business first, we have room for all the things we deem important? When we confuse priorities, God's will so often comes up short. But when by God's marvelous grace we put His will and His desires first, there's room for those things that ordinarily constitute our lives.

Application:
Let us ask God to help us keep our priorities straight and allow His will for our daily routines to take precedence over what we deem important. I believe we could accomplish even more this way, and be a blessing to God also.

May your day be wonderfully blessed as you put first things first, remembering Who's instructions to follow.

Love in Christ Jesus,
Sandy
