Michael Kauka aka” ABNOR” born in Lilongwe and has been rapping since 2002 on  a solo tip in school before he meet Randy and Cyclone” started
rhyming about 4years .ago, just from hanging out with kids who liked hiphop music. Hiphop is a hard form of .music to just be a fan of, never mind partaking in it. There's nobody at a rhyme show  .that doesn't rhyme. , while hanging out with a bunch of kids that listened to rap. We .always tried to freestyle, but you know,.”Abnor  is currently doing Accuntacy at .M.C.A...

Dare devilz
.Dare devilz is a group that started back in .two thousand and one with a group of .five .people and skwatta kamp instrumentalz ..We started writing songs using the ..instrumentals .and ended up performing in .talent shows at the French cultural .centre, .Shire highlands .hotel, Blantyre youth .centre etc . During that we were .known as .THUGS [true humble .unique guys], we .were tremendously .encouraged by the response from the people. IT .seemed the people were .interested in our type of hiphop because we had a different .message depicting .real events and making fun of them. One day when we were practicing .one of our .tracks a guy by the name of Drezmac came by started telling how good our .music is and that it would be better to come up with a single or even an album because .rapping in talent shows was not going to get us anywhere. This was a milestone in our life .for we decided to take his advice and release a single but before we could do anything one .of our group members left to live in Lilongwe the other decided to concentrate on school .and the other one later on went to live in Mzuzu which left two people me and my brother .Marcus Kay-G . We were not affected by our friends' departure since Marcus was the one .coming up with the beats and I was coming up with the concepts and hooks. We did our first single called keep going which was frequently played on joy radio hiphop show the .tunnel and had a bad time on hit or miss on power IoI . We later on released another single never change which also had a good run which .encouraged us to come up with an album. Because of failing to make producers understand our tunes and of that fact that we were criticized in .the studios for our lyrics we decided to produce the album our selves. We had recorded approximately seventeen songs when we released the .first single called hate it but am hot the response was astonishing and it was a hit by our standards the Dj’s loved it the people also loved it. Our .next single had the same success but unfortunately when our computer crashed we lost all the material for our album for we had not completed .mixing it. But now we the encouragement of a lot of people who are also making a mark in the game people like Taz,Gosrizer just to mention a .few we will come up with more songs and more projects.

D'N'M is an abbreviation of DAY ONE'n'MASTER PSYCHIK,i can say D'n'M as
a formal crew was formed in 2004,though we've .always worked together, coz
we went to the same high .shcool,so that's where i can say we actually met in 2000,we
.were classmates then ,since we both had a strong passion for hiphop, working
together was not a problem. We did freestyle's .and recorded track's together
,but after finishing high .school we split up coz Day One(Rasheed Ajussah)went
to South .Africa to persue his studies,as for me 'Master .Psychik'(Brendon Chapweteka)
,i was still here doin ma .thing,so while Day One was in South
,i met Dj Lick,Proverbzz .and Drezmac and we formed a group "EQUINOX"
and did our .first recording at Gomonda studio's.While i was in Equinox we .worked
with a couple of artist's like George Mkandawile,Mwiza form the Springs and
Meander,we also worked .with different producer's like Gift Muhango,Chart
.Rock"DYNAMIKE" just to mention a few,Day One while South did .some single's
with(Ralu,Khalid,Khijo Charlce)Malawian cats .based in S.A  ,When Day One cam
back from South in 2004 things picked up form where we left coz then Equinox
was on .a verge of dissolving,so thats when D'n'M got back .together.We are both
persuing our studies at Malawi College .of Accountancy, with Day One doing
Insurance and M Psychik is doing ACCA.What actually inspired us to take
hiphop seriuos are local rappers such as The Real Elements,Mo Effects,The     Strategy,Dynamike,Gosple just to mention a few.’PROJECT REPORT’ is our debut album and is to drop early 2006.......

INCYT
Incyt, real name Edward Kawamba was born the heart of Blantyre,M-dubs(Malawi)
for years he has been an emcee that many have called "Real" or the product
of the city Life who has tackled real issues in Africa or Malawi. His voice and rythmatic deliveries on his verses has distinguished this rapper from many. From the drop of his first album called "Making the Mark" recorded in South Africa which featured international artist such as Mizchief(SA rapper) and Ashaan(SA R&B group).Incyt really made a mark to tell Malawians in 2004 what time it really was.His frequent appears on the media has always reminded the public of his presence. As one of the founders of the '265' movement,he has shook the game with his "I AM M-DUB HIPHOP" MIXTAPE which was realised in Nov 2007.This Dude is by far the most versatile emcee in the dubz that has always represented on every track he spits on,from freestyle on international radio stations in Europe and South Africa to making classics such as 'Oceans away,Resonable distance and Crazy time' Incyt is here to stay and even after he retires he's still well known, well respected and will have his heart in Africa "Africans moving\i feel the colder breeze\and these minds is locked, but i posses the keys\little did they know the land of opportunity\was what i crawled on on as a child but now it supports my feet/ ( Incyt on making the mark)

Dominnt 1
With the game being so industry-driven, good hip hop is hard to come by.This Malawian raised emcee/producer refuses to be part of this craze they now call 'hip hop' and thus at an early age set out to make it right. His emcee style is a mixture of old school and 'true' school. He sounds like old school LL Cool J with a Tribe Called Quest flow added to remarkable lyrical content. Dominant One is influenced by the
likes of Pete Rock, Dj Premier, the late J. Dilla, Dj Hi-tek, Just Blaze and R.Z.A of Wu-Tang Clan as far as production goes.He has a set individual style of production through which his versatility culminates in a hybrid he has coined 'Electric
Soul'. Dominant One has worked with thus far worked with Skire (C.e.o. Amaravi Records), Marvel (formerly of Real Elements),the Zambian prodigy C4 the Bomb, K.R.T, Lulu, Sally Nyundo, Rising Sun, Gospel, Wisdom Chitedze, Manyanda, Kwame, Third Eye,Cris Mack, the Chosen One to mention but a few. Dominant One
does not limit his music to a Malawian market, currently working with a number of international acts which include Mode Nine of Nigeria and Awkword of the USA. He is also a part of the region's first live hip hop band, Ifeyo
pi
R.A.P , Renegade & Pilgrim are a rare hip-hop duo with a style of their own. From freestylin to recording beats these 2 artistes have also worked with some of Malawi's finest hip-hop artists from Lawi,Purpose,DareDevilz and Dynamike.Out to make a difference, they are set on putting their name on the map and are not scared to speak out their mind.Watch out for their debut album droppin July 5th,2008 called Tha Experiment.

BIRIWIRI
IBiriwiri is a Malawian Hip-Hop duo made up of Kabuzi (Khumbo Munthali) and Zizwa (Ken Limwame). The duo met in their primary school days but after going to different schools they met again at Chancellor College, a constituent college of University of Malawi where they formed Biriwiri. A year after they finished their degree programs, they released their first album titled Chipata Chopapatiza (2006) which catapulted them to the fore of Malawian Hip-Hop scene. The album contained popular hits Daily Daily, Ndikumbukira Agogo and Mudzionetsetsa.

Biriwiri draws its influence and inspiration from African oral literature, Malawian music heritage and American rap and Hip-Hop music - which Kabuzi and Zizwa grew up listening to. Their brand of Hip-Hop is notable for its strict adherence to the use of vernacular language as a medium of delivery for their rap lyrics. Furthermore they tackle themes that are socially pertinent, familiar and readily identifiable as Malawian and African. Even though Biriwiri’s music is urban oriented, it is permeated by elements of traditional African forms of rhythm and style.  In the end, their music also attracts, and is palatable to, adult and rural ears which are conventionally regarded as peripheral audience to Hip-Hop.

Biriwiri is currently working on its ambitious second album titled Umayitha which will be released mid 2008.

Broken Knowledge aka Hyphen aka Young Kay is steadily making a name for himself on the Malawian music scene.
Young Kay was inspired by high school friends (1999) to start rapping and now having learnt form his peers Kenny Klips, Jinx and Dezert Eagle about the ins and outs of the Hip-Hop game, Young Kay has worked to make his style his own; his ability to mix Chichewa and English has made him one of the most captivating Mcs to ever hit Malawi.

A product of Rush Records His debut single “I’m Home” Featuring Goodson Gomonda proved that he was a force to reckon with. Now working on his debut album Exhale-Breathe Out (17 Tracks featuring productions from Dezert Eagle and Dare Devils) which is a showcase of a personal journey bringing you into the world of a young man who in conscience about the world that surrounds him, his style never straying far from his roots and upbringing. Exhale is one of the best Hip-Hop albums to ever come out of this small country proving that there is skill buried here. Broken Knowledge aka Hyphen aka Young Kay, be on the look for this guy because to underestimate him would be a mistake

Dezert Eagle ) aka Eric Duse (don’t take the name as that of a gun but rather take the name literal an Eagle of the Desert Malawi’s premier producer, Ghanaian born but lives in Blantyre, this producer/rapper/singer (we shall just called him multi talented artist) short lived in Australia before returning to Malawi in 2006. In the same year he released his debut album “Broken Silence” spawning off hits such as Yankho and Ntofu (featuring Kenny Klips) which changed the course of Malawian local music. Broken Silenced had a few tracks that stayed on the Malawian Charts for a number of weeks with Ntofu and Yankho clinching the top spot for weeks.

This Multi talented artist does it all from hip-hop to reggae and from Kwasakwasa to R&B, he has also worked on number of unofficial remixes which are released under the moniker of the trio Pinya Pinya. He together with Rush Record’s Manager Pempho “Rissah” Kafoteka also spawned off their own genre of music called Changu.

2007 has been a busy year for Dezert playing more of the producer role than ever and also at the same time preparing to release his next album Barren Lands. He also played a major role in the production of Broken Knowledge’s album “Exhale” having produced 11 tracks of the 18 track album and also produced all but 1 track of Shawishe’s album “Mwakawidwa”
Dezert also produced Basement’s 2007 hit single “Sonjola” and together With Rissah produced half of Fuggie Kasipa’s album.

Barren Lands Dezert’s next album promises to be another trend setter like Broken Silence was featuring Shawishe(Kenny Klips), Broken Knowledge, Goodson Gomonda, Naseelah and Nigeria’s Modenine just to mention a few.

Dezert has also recently started taking on the role of being A&R for Rush Records having discovered the female Singer/Rapper Naseelah in 2007 who debuted on Broken Knowledge’s album “Exhale”, and also appears on his “Barren Lands”

Popdogg

P-O-P-D-O-DOUBLE G,hip-hop and RnB solo artist generally known as Pop Dogg is now a graduate from hiphop school of self taught. From his forth coming album, SPIT REAL, critics would marvel at how domineering and confident he is when it comes to double, triple and quadruple rhyming skills while maintaining a grip on the same story line.

Often called 'Sniffing Gunpowder'and "bwampini" among his peeps for his explosive lyrics and accentuating punch lines, the Malawian born artist is also bilingual making him one of the rarest and gifted artists to step on dublin hip-hop scene. It takes a genius to rap, sing and write in two completely different languages.

On stage, Pop Dogg is energetic and passionate in delivering his message to the audience.he perfomed alongside THE GAME at Olympia Theatre,Dublin a crowd of 2,000 plus, wit MR Switcha,Elsburg in South Africa, and Lusaka in Zambia. SPIT REAL is here-2008. The wait is over!!

MIGHTY

A story teller and a poet .Most of his songs are a reflection of the world through his window expressed in the form of HIP HOP. He started rhyming in 1997 with a couple of  homeboys, sum dead…sum locked up…sum married…anyway that’s life. He’s been kickin freestyles on radio shows and MC competitions with no recognition of course… anyway that’s life. The name was originally ALMIGHTY given to him cuz of his obsession with reality and shocking truth in his songs, but later simplified it to MIGHTY cuz of religious cats u know. He’s got one mixtape to his name titled MY BOOK OF POEMS but currently working on his debut album to be called THE FIRST READING.
