Our Logo Explained...

Designed by Anokhee in pencil initially, inspired by a personal experience...enhanced using a computer and first appeared on our Mara Clean-Up 2001 t-shirts after which we adopted it as the club logo...

The cheetah lies trapped in a plastic bottle

Cheetah - Fast becoming a severely endangered species especially in the Masai Mara where human encroachment on its territory has reduced its numbers drastically. One of the most amazing creatures to watch especially when in flight...we need to save this beautiful cat. The cheetah also represents animals in the wild in general.
Plastic bottle - Non-biodegradable material that affects all animals including domestic. Any sort of plastic will get stuck in the animals gut and may cause suffocation - what's more, people eat these animals...who knows, you could be eating bits of plastic!

The general explanation is that rubbish such as plastic bottles are trapping animals like the cheetah and slowly reducing their numbers. The logo is perhaps literally putting the situation in your face!
