“Mistress, are you alright?” Kaiiri asked her for the nth time. Yes! Of course I am you baffoon!” Kuroi bellowed. “But my lady, you don’t look too well.” Kairi said worriedly. “You fool do you think I could be defeated that easily!” Kuroi roared. Kairi cowered in a corner. “Forgive me, mistress! I did not mean to” Kairi apologized. “Idiots! I am surrounded by idiots!” Kuroi carried on. A gust of wind blew through the room as Kiyo appeared. “Brother! Where have you been!” Kina tsu inquired. “Out doing my job, unlike the rest of you.” he said sarcastically. “Well done, Kiyo. I knew I could count on you.” Kuroi said. “Always, my lady.” he said with a bow. “Good, good,” she stood up and faltered. Your excellency! They all came to her aid. She waved them off. “I am fine. I am just tired.” She stated. “Who could have exhausted you so, mistress?” Kiyo asked. “The same person who killed our brother, Kiyo!” Kairi said. Kiyo looked ar ound. “Kowaru, he is dead?” he asked in disbelief. He never did get along with that big lug but still to defeat him was not an easy task. And for the same person to exhaust madam like that! Who is this person? He wanted to know. It intrigued him to find a person as powerful as that. He just had to see this- creature. “Who is this person?” he asked casually. “Do not dare think of going after her, Kiyo, she is mine!!!” Kuroi roared. She? A woman capable of this much power? That made her even more remarkable. “Of course, my lady, I would not even think it.” He bowed to her. “You better not, Kiyo you are much too pretty to die.” Kuroi grinned evilly.
When the room was empty, he stepped into her chambers again. And got out his mistress’ oracle. Surely she wouldn’t mind if I just took a look, he thought as he began to chant. “Oracle of time, whose wise and true, lead me to the warrior who defeated Kowaru.” An eerie voice answered, "the number you dialed is not yet in service." (kidding people! Just kidding! Geesh! so serious!) "Through the woods and up the street, is the place of the girl you seek." He grinned and vanished.
We were all in high spirits as we walked down the road. Even Hiei seemed to be having a good time. He wasn’t exactly grinning from ear to ear but he was contented with having the satisfactory of beating Kuwabara in their banana split eating contest. Kuwabara seemed to be a little down after loosing but Yusuke had been able to jostle him into a better mood. I peered at Yusuke, he was joking loudly with Kuwabara. He seemed to have forgotten all about last night’s ordeal. Good, he of all people deserved to be happy even if it’s only for just a little while. A slight breeze blew around me and I grabbed the jacket I had worn. What was that? I thought as I looked at the others. They didn’t seem to notice it probably because the three were all engrossed in an insult-flinging-contest. I shrugged it off maybe it was just the wind.
Maybe not.
Kiyo watched the most beautiful thing he had ever seen walk beneath him. He had panicked when she seemed to have noticed his presence but relaxed when she had shrugged it off. She was beautiful as much as she was powerful. She had hair the color of the summer sky and eyes the color of daisies. “If she were to be my wife, I would be the most powerful being alive, well, next to her anyway. Yes, I will make her my bride.” He thought greedily.
