-Ch 4-
It's been 4 years since I came back to Makai. I wonder if my mother is looking
for me still. I wonder what Yusuke and the others are doing now. I wonder what Maya is doing now. Maybe she found another guy? I am pretty sure she did. Since she's so sweet and kind, what guy could resist? Hehe......I thought about going back to see everyone a few times. But I knew deep down I wanted to stay where I was right now and not cause anyone else trouble. I missed my human mother and human x-girlfriend. I also wonder that if I do return to the Ningenkai or Reikai, Koemna-samma would be angry at me for leaving on a missioon. I jumped down from the tree. The gush of Makai wind stirred in my long silver hair. My golden eyes stirred with the color of my hair.

I quickly turned around. I felt a prescence with me. "Who's that?! Show yourself if you dare!" I shouted. Then I heard a loud chuckle. "You haven't changed a bit!" the low and deep voice called out. Hn. I could recognize that voice everywhere.

My little fire demon friend appeared them reappeared 7 times in different places before he then appeared in the tree I was in. He jumped down from the tree to meet. Heh. He hasn't changed at all either. Except he has grown a bit taller. Hn. Well that's a start.
"So this is where you have been hiding all this time? What are you full of!!?" he said to me.
"Watch your mouth, shorty! I came here for a reason you would not of understand." I snapped at him.
"Try me then." Hiei said.
"I came here because I am tired of hurting my friends and family in the Ningenkai.."I explained.
"I'll be in the tree for a second..." Hiei jumped upon the tree branch.
"I knew it." I complained. "So....how is everyone anyways?" I asked.
"Muruko finally laid off on me last year. Koenma seemed pretty angry at you for leaving the Nigenkai. The idiot is thinking about proposing to Yukina any minute now. Oh...I finally told her I was her brother." Hiei answered.
"Good thing." I swished around.
"Oh by the way, I checked out your human family and Maya-chan yesterday." Hiei said to catch his attention a bit.
"Huh? Well?" I began to ask.
Hiei was silent for a second.
"Your mother was at the dinner table when I was watching her at your house. She had your dinner fixed and everything in your spot. Then she starting pretending that she was talking to you. Then she just busted on the ground crying her eyes out as if you have died." Hiei explained.
I could feel my eyes getting hot. I knew in my Yoko form I never ever cried. But there was a little bit of Shuichi Minamino inside me.
"What about Maya?!" I pushed him.
"Well, she was at school and looked fine. But this new guy asked her out."
"What did she say?" I paniced.
"...........She had someone else but is not in this world..........." Hiei answered.
All these years and she still loved me the most!
"What I can say is that Maya has a strong will to go on. And she believes that maybe someday you will return to her and go back to the way things were before." Hiei explained.
I just stood there in silent.
"But I'm not.....I can't go back to her! It will lead her in danger! If anything happened to her...." I began to go insane. I wanted to go back to her more than anything else.
"Well what would you want more? Stay way from her where she can be safe and you always feeling like this, or be with her where she can be in danger when you can fight off all the danger for her?" Hiei asked.
I stood in silent. I have never thought about that before.
Then after a turnaround, Hiei was gone.
6 months later.....
"Yusuke!!" Maya ran to Yusuke. Yusuke turned around. "Maya-Chan?"
"Um.....I am wondering......did you know where Shuichi has gone off to 3 years ago?" She asked.
"Well....Um...I...."
"Please tell me if you know!"
"I really don't know either." Yusuke answered.
"Oh...ok then..." Maya walked off.
'Will I EVER see him agian?' Maya thought as she walked past a guy with long red hair. She paused.
'It...can't be....Shuichi!?' she quickly turned around to see him walk away.
"Shuichi-kun!!!" She began to run to him. She grabbed his arm. He turned around.
It wasn't him.
"Gomenasai!!! I thought you were somebody else." then she walked off.
"I believe I will go see how his mother is doing w/ out him."
She walked to Kurama's house. When she got to the door it was already
open. She knocked on it.
"Ms. Minamino? Are you home?" she walked in and closed the door behind her.
The whole house was full of smoke. She walked in the kitchen. "Ms. Minamino! It's Maya." she called out agian. she saw her under the table w/ 5 packs of cigarettes. She was smoking one of them and had 2 beer bottles next to her.
"Ms. Minamino?" maya was shocked
"Huh?!" She asked in a scratchy voice. Her eyes were all puffy and wattery from crying.
"Um.....have you heard anything from Shuichi?" Maya asked. She took the cigarrette out of her mouth.
"Sheesh! I don't know. It's been 4 years and 6 months. Maybe he's dead." she laid the cigarette back in her mouth.
"What are you doing smoking and drinking?" Maya asked.
"Maybe because it might make me feel better. I've been doing it all day." she said lying down.
"Maya took a peek in the garbage can. There was nothing in it but emptied cigarette packs and beer bottles. Filled to the top.
'Oh God! This woman has gone insane!' Maya thought.
"But it can kill you!"
"Who cares what happens to me? That's destiny!" she took a huge gulp of beer.
'I think I will have to watch her for tonight. Who knows what she will get into!' Maya ran to the phone.
She dialed her best friend's phone number.
"Ami this is Maya Listen......call my Kasaan and tell her I'm sleeping over w/ you......no I'll explain later......just do it!" Maya hung up the phone.
"Ms. Minamino how about you go out to the bar real quick..." Maya suggested.
"Why?"
"Because....some handsome guy told me to tell you to meet him at the bar tonight. He's real intrested in you." Maya lied.
"Handsome guy eh? Well, in that case I'll get my coat and car keys." she walked off to her room.
"Car keys!?" Maya shouted.
"yes.....Ihave to drive right?"
"Well...uh.....he....meant the one down the street. No sense in wasting gas." Maya explained.
"Okay.....take care of the house while I'm gone!" she thumped out the door.
Maya sighed in relief.
"Finally I got her out of the house! Now to hide all this stuff!" Maya grabbed a hand full of the cigarette packs and a garbage bag. She quickly threw the packs of cigarette packs and beer bottles and liquor in the bag. She opened the fridge door. Nothing was in it but beer, and liquor.
"Oh my! I REALLY have to watch her tonight!" she said to herself as she scooped out all the alcohols into the bag.
She then checked in her room. She found cigarette packs in her drawers. She searched the whole house. Finally after she was done, she took the 5 ,filled to the top, bags out to the dump. She tossed the bags in the dump and headed back into the house.
