Marcus dragged me into the Abercrombie store against my will.  Prep clothes???  Since when were decent clothes all preppy?

Stop fighting Nick.  Id be so much faster and easier if youd just do what youre supposed to do.  Then you can go back to your hotel room and sulk.

I stared at the ground.  It was her!  Why did she run off?  Did she not recognize me?  She looked in a hurry, but she had to know it was me; otherwise, she wouldnt have just said check Ryan out.  It wouldnt have made any sense if she didnt know I knew who Ryan was.  I hadnt remembered his name, but yeah, that was the guy on the cd.

Plus, this was where all those bags Kara was carrying came from.  Maybe they can tell us something.

My head shot up.  He wants me to find her too?

Im tired of you moping around all the time, so yeah.  Im doing this for me.  So youll shut up.  And plus, she was kinda cool.

It was impossible to suppress the smile that lit up my face.  Without thinking, I jumped on him, enveloping him in a hug inside the foyer of the A&F store.

Thank you!

Shortie, get the hell off of me before I kick your ass!

I jumped back before he had a chance to deck me.  Looking around, I caught the entire store staring at us.  Laughing I waved at everyone, grinning bigger when I heard Marcus groan behind me.

Find some clothes and then well ask questions.

Turning back around, I studied him.

Or how bout you pick out the clothes and Ill ask the questions.

He glared at me.

I have horrible taste in clothes, you know that.  Whatever you pick, Ill wear, promise.  And obviously you know what the hell Im supposed to wear anyway.  Please?

Marcus rolled his eyes before slightly nodding his head and walking off.  Grinning, I started to search for a female employee that might give into my so-called charm.

I caught sight of a high school-aged blonde behind the counter.  Surveying her attitude as I sauntered up to her, I figured flirting was my best bet.

When she saw me, her face lit up.

Oh my gosh!  My little sister is sooooo in love with you!

I groaned inside.  Okay, maybe just asking questions would be a better tactic.

Um yeah, so, like is there anything I can do for you?

I scratched the back of my head, quickly surveying everything that was spread across the counter, as if some trace of Kara had been left behind.

Actually Im looking for a girl.

She - her nametag read Sonia - looked at me, confused.

Im the only girl working a shift right now, so

Looking back up at her, I squinted at her.  What?

Oh no.  Im actually talking about someone who was just in here.  Shes about

I leveled my hand with the middle of my bicep.

this tall.  Really red hair.  Green eyes.  Had a long black jacket on.  Insanely beautiful.

Sonia smiled.

Yeah, I know her.  She was in here about forty five minutes ago.

Reaching over towards a stack of fliers, she handed me one.  It appeared to be an announcement for Ryans show.

She was picking up some clothes for him.  I think she might be his assistant or girlfriend or something.

A shaggy brunette, who as if he were missing his skateboard, jumped over the counter and began ruffling through bags and discarded clothing next to Sonia.

Hey Mark.  This guy is asking about the red head that

The guys head shot out from under the counter, banging his forehead on his way up.  Rubbing the wound gingerly, his face lit up.

Kara!

Instantly my face lit up as well.  Its amazing how she has that effect on guys.

Yeah, her.

Yeah what about her?

Dude you sound way too excited about her.  Shes mine!  If you even think about her in anyway, I will beat you.

I need to find her.

He frowned as he studied me to see if I was competition?

Uh, yeah.  Shes going to be at the Gypsy Tea Room for Cabreras show.  Its on Fourth and Main.  You cant miss it.  Shes acting as his assistant, I think.

I felt my lips turn up into a grin.

Thanks man!

Rushing away from the counter, I found Marcus staring intently at a pair of pants.

Un uh!  No way in hell Im wearing those!

Dude, I know where she is.  Forget the clothes!

Throwing what he held in his arms onto an adjacent rack, I dragged him towards the door.

Dude, Nick... what the
