| Chandigarh is not typically on the short list of places to visit in India, but it turned out to be a fantastic stop for us thanks to the kindness of Narinder Singh. Narinder is a Sikh that spends his retirement hours showing tourists like us his fine city. Our first stop was at the Nek Chand Rock Garden, where the artist created an garden from every day trash. It is full of sculptures, gardens, waterfalls, and rivals the Taj for its beauty. While visiting the garden, we were constantly approached by Indians wanting to take our photograph or get our autographs. It was really bizarre, but made for a fun afternoon. Pictured right is Liz complying with such a request. See below for a picture of one of the "exhibits" in the Rock Garden. Click here for more pictures of Chandigarh. |
