Costa Rica Photo Album
The first place I went was the national park named "Rincon de la Vieja."  It was just outside a really cute town, Liberia, and we hiked through the forest an arrived at a waterfall.  It was soooo beautiful, which was a good thing since the hike was sooo strenuous and I thought I would die trying to hike it all!  But we finally made it, and went swimming and ate lunch there.  It was really nice, but I didn't see any animals (except some lizards).  But that's okay!  It was really fun.  I went with some of the other international students, who stayed longer and continued on to the beach.  I left after one night, though, to go a different beach with my host family.
So this was the beach and one of the pools in the resort where I stayed with my host family.  It's called Punta Leona, and it isn't too far from Jaco beach.  It was really beautiful, and I had fun hanging out with them for the weekend.  I saw lots of crabs, which was exciting.  It rained a lot, but that didn't matter.  We just hung out in the pool and played sports (I know, I played football and volleyball, are you in shock?) while it rained.
A couple of days after I got back from the beach, I went to Volcan Poas on a day trip.  My first volcano!  It was really pretty, and I had a good time.  There was sulfur steaming out of the walls of the crater, kinda scary!  There is also a really nice lagoon just to the right of the main crater (the one shown in the picture).  It was really cloudy, but we did catch a glimpse of everything!
