| June 3, 1982 Dear Mother, Hi and hello! Kumusta ka na? Hope you�re always doing fine. Have you been admitted to the hospital? How�s your kidney operation? I hope that it went well. By the way, I have enrolled at Centro. I already know the result of my exam. I saw my name and it was the first on the list. The school president talked to us. There were 11 of us scholars. He interviewed us individually. He was very nice. Then the Vice Dean of the College of Commerce talked to me as well. He was really glad that the topnotcher in the scholarship exam came from the College of Commerce. He�s also very nice. He said that the school president is his uncle. They are both called Mr. Tiongco. Kaya lang may pagkabakla yung Vice Dean. I have 100% discount on my tuition and miscellaneous fees. But I still paid P184 for uniform, ID and other stuff. The tuition fee for Commerce here at Centro is over P800 per semester. So we have really saved a lot on my tuition fee. And it so happened that I have inquired at UP at Padre Faura. That campus doesn�t offer Engineering or Commerce. They only have three courses. That�s why I didn�t feel too bad. If I were able to process all the papers that they needed, I would have gained a lot more financial benefits at UP. They have Grants-in-Aid Scholarship. I would have received money in addition to free tuition. But they don�t have the course that I want. So that�s just fine. The opening of classes is on June 14. I have classes from Monday to Friday. It�s only half day on Mondays. The rest is whole day and I have classes �til night. I have classes that end at 5:30 pm and 7:00 pm. But that�s just fine.
