| April 27, 1982 Mother dearest, Hello! How are you? You know what? We are bored to death here. Its been over a month since we received any mail. We just got your letter dated April 6 yesterday. Ive already sent you pictures from my graduation. You must have received them by now. Ive only got a few pictures. Some didnt turn out good. My summer classes in Steno-Typing started on April 12. I think it will be done by the end of May, just before I start my college classes. I think I might go to Centro (CEU). Ive already handed in my application for Scholarship. The exam is on May 3. You know, I was the only one in my school who passed the entrance exams at UP. Sayang nga eh. I wont be going there anyway. Its so expensive to go there kasi. CEU is better since its closer. Miss Borromeo and I went out once. She has been promising to treat me since third year HS. Then she also promised me in fourth year. I wasnt looking forward to it since I knew that she was always busy. Then the other day, she called. She was at school and said that shed wait for me. We went to see a movie. It was finished just in time for me to go to my class. The cinema was just beside my school. So we parted ways afterwards. Mothers Day is just around the corner. Why is it that we started celebrating Mothers Day here when we are now apart from each other? Sige ha, til here. I have something to tell you next time. Happy Mothers Day. You were asking us about something in your previous letter. Of course, we want you to come and have a vacation here, if its possible and if you can afford it. Sige, ba-bye. Love lots, Irene |
