| October 24, 1981 Dear Dolly, Hi! Kumusta ka na? I'm sorry that we wrote you just now. We got short of money, kasi. We lent Auntie Charito P500.00. We also closed our savings account because we were really short. We almost weren't able to get the package that you sent us because we had to pay P144.00 for the tax. It took us a week to redeem the package because Auntie Charito didn't have money as well. Auntie Charito said that if you will be sending us clothes, don't include anything else. You know what happened this time, somebody at the post office had their eyes on the perfume that you sent. Maybe next time, just send us money instead. We finally got the package. Nothing was missing. The T-shirts fit me well, Lina�s dress, too. The pants were quite big for me, but I could repair them. I have been very busy with school activities these past few weeks. We just had the NCEE (National College Entrance Examinations) on October 11. We�ll probably get the results by February or March. After the NCEE, I was at Miss Farroll�s place at Dapitan on Saturdays and Sundays. We were reviewing for the Contest and we were also working on our project for the Science Fair. I competed in the Science Quiz on October 20 at Ramon Magsaysay High School. Luck wasn�t on our side this year. None of us won, unlike last year when our Physics contestant went through to the Regional Contest. Yesterday was United Nations Day Celebration. There was a program in the afternoon. In the morning, there was a parade of delegates. The delegates were students who represented the different countries. My Social Studies teacher has asked me to be a UN representative but I declined because we had to pay for the costumes. Foundation Day is almost here. It will be on November 4. We will be performing the binasuhan. Our C.A.T. Passing Review is also on the same day. O sige ha. Take care always. We love you. Lots of love, Irene |
