| September 9, 1981 Dear Dolly, Hi! Kumusta ka na? Hope everythings alright. We are all fine here. We are very busy with school activities. The NCEE is just a few weeks away thats why we are always reviewing for the exams. Our report cards will be sent home next week. I already know what marks I got. Our teachers did the grades of candidates for scholarship ahead of the others because many colleges/universities have already sent scholarship forms in our school. I am really hoping to get a scholarship. I wont go to Cavite anymore to get Papas income tax return. Kasi mahirap na eh. You know what, we are already wearing our fatigues in C.A.T. I am so cute in my uniform. C.A.T. is a lot of fun, although its very tiring and we are always under the sun. At first, I was really having a hard time and I was always asked to do push-ups. But not anymore, Ive gotten used to the routines. Ma, youve mentioned in your letter that you want to have our last names changed. Dont you think that it would be a bit of a bother? Anyway, there are other ways that you could sponsor us. Ma, please be careful. We heard someone was arrested because she lied to the embassy that she was single, when she was actually married. We are quite worried about you. I hope nothing like that happens to you. Sige, ma. Until here. Pasensiya ka na if I only have a short letter. Its already late and I still have to attend my NCEE review in the morning. Bye. With much love and kisses, Irene |
