| May 18, 1981 Dear Dolly, Hi! Kumusta ka na? You must be very busy at work. Dont worry about us. Were all fine here. Did you receive the letters that Margo, Michelle and Auntie Charito sent you? I dont think that Mel had the chance to write. Pasensiya ka na. You cant expect that girl to write. Were all okay here. Were always having fun. Weve been playing scrabble all the time. Theres nothing else to do because its school vacation. I think Uncle Gene bought the scrabble for Jenny and Martin, but we are the ones playing with it. The Binibining Pilipinas was held on Saturday. Sayang. Ate Diana didnt even make it to be a contestant. They already spent a lot on the bathing suit and the leg make-up. Did you receive the card that we sent you? We were not able to send it earlier because I thought that Mothers Day was celebrated only here in the Philippines, until I saw on the calendar that you sent us that it was also Mothers Day there. We already sent your parcel to Paulino Salanguit. He wasnt so sure if he could bring the scissors. Please tell us if you receive it. We forgot to put your phone number on the parcel. When we received your letter, we had already sent the parcel. I have included in the parcel the name cut-outs that you have asked me to make. There were eleven of those. I also made some for Auntie Feng and Uncle Richard. By the way, have they gone back from Jamaica? They must have lots of presents for you. Extend our regards to them. Last Thursday, a permanent filling was done on my tooth, while Margo had a tooth pulled out. We then exchanged the 20 dollars that you sent us. Auntie Charito already has a suki at Escolta, where she exchanges the money that you send us. Thats why we got a higher exchange rate. We got P780 out of the 100 dollars. I bought a new pair of leather shoes for school. Lina could probably use my old ones. Auntie Lucy wrote and said that Vita is in Cabanatuan. I think she only stayed there for two weeks. She left for abroad on April 25. She didnt even meet with Auntie Charito, but she did have a pasalubong for her. O sige ha. Bye. Take care. Irene |
